Reloading 7.62x25TT

do a search on the internet and click on cast boolits they have some ideas on there, study the loads before you try them.

Here's mine:

4.5gr of W231, 110gr Berry's 30 Carbine projectile, CCI small pistol primer. OAL 1.360.

I use Starline brass, S&B brass, and I also use 30 Mauser brass interchangeably with the 7.62X25 brass, in fact I use 30 Mauser dies. (7.63 x 25)

Another load I have written down, but have not yet tried myself, uses 5.0 to 5.5 gr of Unique.

I find the load I use is comparable in recoil to a 9mm. I bought 2 boxes of S&B 85 grain commercial ammo, and after a box and a half, stopped shooting them. The most commonly used word to describe the Tokarev using 85 gr surplus or commercial is "snappy".

I got tired of "snappy" fairly quickly...

I'm just starting myself, I have made some loads with H-110 and 85grn FMJs that are pretty impressive. 14.5grns is pushing them over 1800fps! One hell of a fireball though.

I have a few I like to make.

5gr titegroup / Bullseye over 90gr hornady XTP or 110 gr Armscore M1 rifle bullet, or home cast Lee 93gr .314 sized to .309.

10gr 2400 over the same two jacketed bullets for more excitement. Not the cast bullets. About 1350 FPS.

I noticed Campro started making 85gr Tokarev projectiles.. maybe have to start reloading that cartridge now. All I could find before was Hornady which made reloading more expensive than surplus ammo.

I’ll just get Campro now that they make them! I only buy Berry’s in 350gr 500 S&W because Campro doesn’t make one yet. Their plated bullets are no where near the quality of Campro.

Budget shooter supply has Armscor 110 gr bullets for $17/100

I didn't know about the Campros! That's great news! My indoor range outlawed steel anything ammo...
