Any suggestions or comments on a semi .410 or 20 gauge?

IMO only one 410 semi proven a 1100 remington but it would help if we knew what it was to be used for

I have 2 semi 20 gauges, a Benelli M2 for hunting and Remington 1100 Sporting for clays. Quite happy with both.

If you are looking for a hunting gun, the 20 gauge is way more versatile and the ammunition is cheaper to buy.
The .410 is an experts gun on game, and is one of the competition gauges in Skeet shooting. The light shot load of a .410 is a significant handicap.
There are more good choices in a semi-auto chambered for 20 gauge.

There's a lot of difference between the two gauges, the 20 would be far more useful for just about any application.

For .410 there's Armsan A636 which is made in Turkey. I believe its sold under other brand names like Tristar Viper G2 for the USA - there are plenty of videos on Youtube if you want to check them out. Tradeex has them listed under new shotguns.

We have 4 Armsans, but not in .410- I'd happily buy one. The Remington 1100 is a great choice too.

Remington 1100 for sure! Not saying anything negative about the others, that's the only one I have experience with. Dad has a 1100 LT-20, and I just purchased a 1100 Sporting 28.

The 410 is not legal for big game in some provinces.

And the .410 is not legal for hunting big game because .410 slug loads are anemic, not providing enough terminal energy to be a humane killer.
Modern 20 gauge slug loads are a whole other matter in energy.

I was going to suggest you split the difference and get an 1100 in 28 gauge, but with the intent of running slugs, you really should step up to 20 gauge.
