Hi guys,
Looking for good scope for Ruger 10/22 for a price no more than 150-200 CAD. Can you give me tips like which brand to get, do not need any fancy things. I need regular good scope.

Optics are something you should never skimp on, even if it's just for a 22. Wait a couple of extra pay-checks and buy a Leupold or Bushnell 3200/4200. Just my opinion, lots of people here have had good results with more economical optics.

I can shoot a golf ball at 100 yards all day long with my 90 dollar crappy leapers, from Marstar, and sub sonic ammo.

If you want a tack driver, spend the money on a good one. If you want to "plink"...... Spend less money... LOL :D

I have a Mueller APV 4.5-14 AO scope on my 223 and its nice to be able to see 22 calibre holes clearly at 200 yards. Its in the price range you mention and I'd say its a good scope for the money.

I have a Leapers 3-9x32mmAO scope on my 10/22 that I bought for $59 CAD from D&L Airgun in Langley, and for the price, it works really well.

I have a Bushnell Banner 4x12 on my Brno and it works very good for the price. I think they are $120. For the ranges that a .22 is effective, they more than foot the bill at a decent price.

Also SIR is having their Fall sale on right now...I just received their flyer in the mail, and there are some great deals in there.

Thanx guys for your responses, I know I do not be cheap optics, however, I do not for 500 or higher price range, if it can zoom up to 6-9 times, all good to me. it is rimfire not centerfire that can shoot futher. regarding optic, I've used russian military once but due to Rugers origin, will not look good on rifle. Regarding zooming, let's say that with ruger you will not shoot futher than 200 meters, again that my intentsion, due to bullet weight is small and MOA will be great for longer distance. I got long time ago tasco scope for 50 bucks. It was used on paintabll rap4, perfectly. I sold that paintball marker, but kept scope. When i went to shooting range to shoot ruger, ended up that i have to go all the way down on scope, plus aim at the bottom of target. Anyways, there no more way to adjusted, only by adding some pieces of metal. However, that will not look good, you know, everybody want it nice and good looking :) The once that you guys offered me nice, but need to them real.

I just bought a Nikon from Reliable Gun in Vancouver a couple of months ago. Has all the things these guys are talking about as well as super crisp clarity. Might even be as good as my Leupold VXIII. Price is about $170 without tax. When I get some more money I am going to put one of their centerfire scopes (4x) on my 308 too. Check it out if you can find a dealer that is in your area. Very crisp visuals. I have been wearing Nikon lenses in my glasses for 20 years because of the clarity-they know what they are doing.

Bogie:

I just picked up a Nikon Buckmasters 6-18x40SF for my .30-06. I'll let you know how well it works. I would have bought from Reliable...but the Canadian MSRP for this scope is $469 + taxes, and I only paid $276 USD including shipping for the exact same scope brand new from a US authorized dealer.

I hear Nikon scopes are great, and I have a feeling I'll be picking up a couple more for my other rifles in the near future. :)

well, well, sure, spend $1000 or more for a scope and mounted on your $150 gun, and make sure the scope is aleast the size of your ruger or 2 times bigger ;) go lebaron get a .22 rimfire bushnell or bushnell sportsman 3x9 32mm ($74) with a/o or 3x9 40mm ($120)with a/o (the last one is not bad at all for 10/22 and can be used later on your SKS (not like there is ammo in stock)

Aleady had 2 Bushnells crap out on me-one, a variable, wouldnt hold zero except the magnification it was set on when sighted in. The Nikons rule and I am going to put one on my Savage 308 and hunt it. Exceptionally crisp clarity. Quite amazing. And that is just the cheap Prostaff. Also looking forward to your feedback Allstone.
