SKS a rare breed now getting hard to find in stock anywhere

Anyone else noticed the supplies of surplus SKS rifles have almost dried up ?

It took me ages to find anyone who was selling them

got one on the way now

You should’ve been buying them 5-6 years ago, the glory days of Sks have sailed I’d say. Prime examples aren’t as plentiful as they used to be.

Lots of places still have them, you just have to know where to look. Being that millions were made, it's not as though they're going to up and disappear any time soon - sort of like the ammunition for them...

Now, do you want Russian or Chinese? Russian can be ever so slightly harder to find, but Cabela's sells Chinese and they regularly go on sale.

I bought a premium Russian one from Frontier when they were at one if their last Peaks as far as price...329.00. It is a really nice unit with a nice laminate stock... but I paid too much.
Seems as though it might actually be sellable with out a loss again soon.

The nice ones we used to get are long gone. Mostly mix master crap coming in now. EE you can still find a few all #'s matching beauties like were coming in, in years past. Best of luck to ya

Perhaps they don't have any in warehouse, so if you want one check in the store. But the website does list the Chinese ones with Tapco stocks for $419.99 "in store only."

I recently picked a Russian one up local from a guy that never shot it from his collection. I got lucky because he would only deal local. I looked at a lot at the different gun shows before choosing. A friend thought I overpaid until I told him to look at what they are going for now (in comparison to a few years ago when he had sold his) I also considered gotenda, but just couldn’t reach for my wallet on the better grade ones. Who knows, maybe some Russian prepper will sell off some of his high grade stockpile now knowing how much he can get for them.
