Permission to hunt

If you rented a condo or a house from a landlord, who grants entry to someone across your doorstep? you or the landlord? - must be the same for land I imagine. :)

I used to think the opposite....but you bring up a very good point. I figure it would have to do with the agreement between the leaser and leasee.
 
In most cases it is up to the person renting the land, after all he owns the crop. Some land owners stipulate that they keep the right to refusal but not many that I know of.
 
I talked to the owner earlier this fall

and got permission, now the renter is fuming saying he has the say first. It is not even on the crop land. It is a 5 acre parcel of bush on the corner that we are hunting bear on.
 
The renter rents only the agricultural rights to the land unless the contract specifies otherwise. Unless your actions affect his agricultural dealings he should have no say or input. If the owner of the land gave you permission you should be good.
 
Are you talking about land east of Peace River? We know how much the guides have tied up. Have you gotten into one of those situations?

Yes I am in the east of Peace area and I have hunted it for a while. I believe that this might be part of the problem. The renter first asked who I was guiding for. It is pretty competative up here for land with lots of sneaky stuff going on.
 
I know I'm just a little west of you. You should try bird hunting over here and I don't have to tell who the prick is that lives between us that has evrything f***ed up.
