The nice thing about open carry is that you have an immediate thing to talk about when you meet someone. You can discuss each others pistols, the choice of caliber, the holster configuration, etc. All of these things add up and give you some insight to the other guy.

The guy in the picture is not very smart, I don't think, but yes I agree, there is a discussion opened up with other carriers and non firearm owners, the civil ones, not the ones who would grab the sidearms and run with them, those are complete IDIOT'S

Welcome our first contestant – Buba will be heading out of the gene-pool very shortly (just hope there’s no one stood anywhere near him)

Another nice thing about open carry is your not considered a target/victim to your neighborhood criminal.

I’m not condoning the way the guy is carrying his gun but I don’t think he is planning on using it any time quickly. He looks like a US military rear echelon cook at some deployed base somewhere and there should be a lot of M4s around him. The Beretta is too worn looking for a civvy gun.

The safety is on also.

Maybe a requirement to carry and this was his way of mocking that rule as a cook?
