Adding a QD stud to an A2 stock

Check out this cool way to store your sling to keep it from getting snagged on things, keeps it nice and tidy. FTR, one doesn't need to collapse the stock if you don't want to.

Thanks! Just what I was looking for.

KAC CAR Stock QD. I have them on all my Colt N 1 stocks. CSC has them in stock.

Good info and good videos !

Thanks guys !!

Got a basic 1” wide sling at the rear of the stock and a QD on the rear of the hand guard. True North Arms has a low profile QD M-LOK mount that comes with a QD swivel.

Waiting on my magpul MS4 stealth grey sling from TNA right now so I can put the basic 1” sling back on my 14” Mossberg 500.

Received my goods today from RDSC, they stupidly enough insisted on age verification and signature required for a QD stud, during covid times, but oh well.

Drilled a pilot before going full 1/2''

It chipped a little on the side, but the QD cup lips are wide so it's all hidden

When the drill bit passed a big chunk of foam just fell out, cut the rest with a box knife, next time I will drill a pilot hole a size bigger to help.

Red Loctite her in there, holding the square fitting with a mini Westcott and fasting the QD cup with a QD sling mount clicked in it.
Waiting 24 hours for Loctite to dry, tomorrow i'm filling area around nut with JB weld.

Next time use a brad point style bit, those can really help with making a clean hole without chipping and breakout

Also use a piece or scrap wood behind the where your drilling the hole, to also prevent breakout

Thanks for the tip, will do when I get to QD'ing the other side.
At least the finished cosmetics are still 100% and structural integrity are not compromised, but am always up for a cleaner job none the less.

Edit : Just mixed some JB weld and applied a blob inside the stock.
Granted it's not too nice to the look, I believe it will prevent future loosage and contribute to QD stud long term solidity.
