Reminiscing about old guns

You ain't really a "rifle loony" until you've worked all the bugs out of a rifle, glass bedded it, installed an after market trigger, established it's optimum load, then sold the rifle - only to buy it back again !!!

Been there - done that.

Also bought dies for a calibre I did not yet reload for.

I haven't gone down that route with a rifle but I do own several die sets in calibers that are waiting to feed rifles that I may never own.

I've sold lots of guns but the only one I kind of miss is a M1 Garand I bought for $149 at Lever Arms. I didn't shoot it for a few years so sold it for about $800, which was a decent price then. A few times since then I thought that it might be nice to have one again. I could just buy another but they are now $1500-$2000 and I don't miss it that much! :)

Same here, except I traded mine for a nice double shotgun. The one I regret most was trading off my commercial Oberndorf small ring K-mauser in .250 savage. I don't even like to think about it.

I had an unaltered full-military configuration BSA Martini Cadet that chambered and shot 32-20. That was one sweet little rifle, accurate, and handy. I regret selling it--but I was moving and downsizing and the cash offer was great. I wouldn't mind another.

Ok, now ye got me to reminiscing a tad about the rifles that really stuck in my bean as being super nice to shoot. Both were Martini action .22's that would shoot into 1/4" at 50 yds with, of all things, Polish Nitron bargain basement ammo that was available in the mid 70's at me favorite LGS. One was a BSA Model 12 & the other was a Martini Vickers. Loved 'em.

Only buggaboo now is, me old eyes ain't fond of itty-bitty peep sights any more so I go with me scoped CZ's & Bergara B14R. :)

I try to not think of some rifles that I’ve owned over the years.
Still kickin myself for partin with many of them!!

I once had a Marlin 1894 44 magnum with a 24 inch octagon barrel. Boy do I regret selling it. I'd be happy with a round barreled one. Maybe even a 20" one. Why did I have to sell it.

If you think you regret selling that Marlin now, take a look at the selling prices at Switzer's auction this weekend. Many lever actions went for a very good price, for the seller
