I haven’t seen a BCL coyote yet to see what they did for the screw takedown system but even a Maccabee already has a Helicoil installed. Or at least the 4 I’ve seen did. Those threads are not likely to strip even after years of taking it apart. The way the receiver slides apart is an interesting idea. It is a bit difficult to get them to slide apart when they’re new but there is zero play in fit from upper to lower. I’m on the order list for an ATRS and already gathered my parts months ago. Bought one of those Sterling 102 receiver sets to put together a matching .308 rifle. Now that’s going to be done in about a week so I’ve been thinking about grabbing a Maccabee receiver set to put together while I wait for the ATRS.
Thanks all, I kinda figured ATRS was gonna be the one. Follow-up question for a build then, what are the long lead-time items in Canada, or is everything other than the receiver pretty widely available? Just thinking if I buy a receiver set today, are there other items I should try to preorder by the end of 2020 as well vs. just plan the build when next spring?

Don't forget the Tar-21. It could be had used for 1600-1800 range. It's more accurate than a X95 so it might fit the bill for you, if you install an aftermarket trigger.

It’s crazy that people are paying 1k for an almost AR15 reciver, when the real deal can be bought for $50 USD. Really shows how we get gouged in Canada. Anyways I’d stay away from the gimmick rifles ‘rdb, wk, anything bcl’ and go with the tried and true, VZ in 556, mini 14 or maybe the MR1.
I regret selling mine and plan on replacing it. Ergonomics felt good, accuracy was good, never had a failure and brass was always conveniently in a pile at your feet. Trigger was quite good as well. A lot of gun in a short package.
