Camp Cocktails - Post hunt celebratory favourites!

Glass or tin cup pour a drop of laphraoig add nothing else, worlds best drink. Enjoy. I mentioned to my wife one time this is the worlds best drink . She said why bother with a glass ? Thats you', always worrying about the dishes

some nice smooth aged golden rum like a Bacardi 1838 with a pinch of pure smokey Canadian maple syrup added in.
I keep that in a small flask for a lil nip now n then after the kill.

Don’t do hunt camps round my area but once I get back home and start processing I drink a couple ice cold beers and once things are quartered and in bags I put back a couple rye and cokes or rye and gingers.

I buy a 26 of Jager at the beginning of deer season and have a very small sip before each hunt. Usually nothing after a deer is back home.

My avatar pic may be too small to make out but in our camps scotch is king.

Some camp favourites: Highland Park 12, 18 (contender for GOAT scotch) GL/GF 12,15,18, Balvenie and Oban 14, Talisker 10....

My personal favourites: Laphroaig QC, Lag 16, Ardbeg Uigeadail. Peat smoke and campfire are good for the soul. Cheers.

One our our guys coined the name "house special" not sure where he came up with it but it's Crown royal and Ginger ale on ice.
Everyone has a House Special when we return to camp..... then we can drink whatever we like, usually beer, wine or single malt scotch depends on the day.

We hunted with my uncle for 25 years at his Camp and he was veteran of WW11.After a day of hunting we were mixing Bloody Caesars he asked what they were so we made one up for him he just loved them, next day he says I will have one of those drinks what do you call them Depth Charges ever since that day Bloody Caesars were called Depth Charges. He is gone now but the name still sticks as well as many others.Cheers

I don't drink anymore. But a cold beer was always nice! Also enjoyed crown royal or fireball, especially coming in from a cold sit!

Now I like the PC red brew 0.5% beer from the grocery store. Or an ice cold Pepsi!

Usually just beer because I'm so exhausted from doing all the work. I hunt alone usually so I gut, I cut, I wrap, I sleep lol.

At our camp the fella that made the kill had his drinks served to him all evening, whatever he wanted. Beer, rye, rum, vodka, various single malt scotches, and Baileys, the bar all stocked. Several of us had a taste for good single malt Speyside scotch. Glenrothes was one of my favorites, straight up with perhaps a bit a tepid water. Chivas Regal if brought to camp was used to help start the woodstove in the morning. We also had a fine selection of red and white wines to accompany whatever the chef was serving that evening.
Our Guys at camp drank a lot, but we had a very strict rule, absolutely no drinking during the day, if you did, your gun stayed in the rack and you stayed inside the camp, period no exceptions. It is nice to read on here that many fellas enjoy single malt scotch.
