I have done some research and I think I have confirmed the The Glock 19 Gen 3 & 4 aftermarket threaded barrels fit in the 19x (Gen5). I am looking to install a Glock 19 gen 4 threaded barrel into my Glock 19x in order to run a compensator. Has anyone on here done so and would like to share their personal experience? What barrel did you use? What compensator? Did it improve your shooting? How did the pistol run? ect.?

Thanks for your time!

I don't shoot Glock, but I did have a comp on a Jericho 941 , It shot gas all over the place, more like a flash hider It did add some weight, which I liked, noisy as hell indoors

To the best of my knowledge, the only difference in the gen 5 locking block is that the G17’s use the G19 locking block now making all barrels cross compatible across the entire Glock lineup, whereas prior to the gen 5’a the 19’s and 17’s were not compatible.

That being said, I don’t see a reason why a Gen4 19 barrel wouldn’t work in a gen 5. Try google, I imagine there’s a lot of our American counterparts that have asked this same question.

Thanks as with my initial post, I have already confirmed compatibility. I was looking to see if anyone has any personal experience with running a compensator on a 19x. I Know how to use google...

Not all comps work the same, some actually work better then others, also there are different designs ie single port vs dual port

I am looking at buying a PMM dual port

Here is their testing on a 19X they use many different brands of GEN4 aftermarket barrels with their comps on their Instgram page you can see many different barrels being used

I just got a ZEV comp for my Glock 19, it has the OEM Glock threaded barrel, and its hard to find any other options for the thread that Glock uses. Zev is actually the only one I could find that would fit the OEM barrel. I haven't been able to try it because my range is closed

Most companies make their comps in 1/2 x 28 and wont fit the Glock M13.5x1 LH thread

I guess I could pop the Glock 19 barrel and Zev comp into my 19X but I just installed it on the 19 so Im going to wait till I get another comp and barrel specifically for my 19x. I actually want a complete slide with the comp in so I can just swap slides out and not have to constantly remove and re install the comp

Watched that video, it is amazing the difference between the compensators and how much of a difference they make when it comes to muzzle flip

Their comp works very well, I have seen many other brands being tested and some had terrible results, and in very few cases even worse re coil then without it

PMM makes their comp specifically for the Gen5 19x, so other then it fitting really well and even being available in color matched, it also works well on the pistol its made for
