Almost 7,000 Lee Enfield. 22 trainers to be melted?? Or saved?

The hard part is they’ll only sell to government agencies (hence CMP in the states). I can’t think of anyone here who would qualify. Maybe a business that sells to law enforcement would count?

The DCRA comes to mind ..... if it still exists.

It's was/is quasi-government with a lot of ex-military people involved in it's hierarchy.

Hahahahaha.

The DCRA are self-serving full bore and F-class target shooters now. They have zero interest in military history, or the upkeep of civilian/military cooperation in the maintenance of marksmanship in this country.

Single shot. Only the British No 7 .22 was magazine fed.

These will without a doubt be destroyed. All the L96 except a few in museums are at the bottom of the North Sea.

Not so fast! The No7 has a magazine... to catch empty cases. It is single shot.
The No8 is the repeater.

These would be great to get into the country. But I can see it now. They wont be cheap; the days of cheap milsurp are gone. What importer wants to bulk import 6k rifles when the milsurp market in canada is so small.

That is the Canadian C No.7 and it is a single shot. Actually as first issued it had a feeding ramp and that ramp was often removed in service to catch the empty brass.

British issue No. 7 is a repeater and has a magazine

- The No.8 is a single shot..

It would be nice to see them saved, but seems as though unless a Government steps up the MOD isn't going to sell them...

Maybe Martin of Corwin Arms can finagle some sort of a deal. Wishful thinking...

About a million years ago, when I was an Army Cadet I achieved DCRA Marksman, Sharpshooter & Expert classifications with that rifle. Still have the crests......somewhere.
