Just picked up one of these ex Ohio National Guard Remington 870P trenchguns with folding stock in the USA and imported by IRG. Before these guns were surplussed off to the public it was almost impossible to find a real 870 trenchgun. I prefer the look of the fixed stock but the folding model is rarer and it popped up for sale. I Like the ONG engraving on the side of the receiver. I Need to find a nice 870P wood buttstock..

Cool article on the gun and it’s history here

Some people did. Lucky buggers.

I know hey. That’s a pretty decent return. I paid 2k cdn for a real WW2 USGI Winchester 1897 (condition isn’t great) trenchgun... I thought that was crazy for a pump gun... :( :(

Does anyone know where to get a police wood rear stock? I was thinking of swapping it for shooting. Keep the folder...

If you shoot me a PM, I will check my stash when I get home from work this afternoon....pretty sure I have a minty set of wooden 870 police furniture off a brand new 870P.

Cheers,

Brobee

I've never heard or seen these before but its now on that list. That stock looks fantastic. Any plans to restore it or keep it as is? It looks great as it is

Leaving it alone other than I’ll put a fixed stock on for shooting and put the folder away. They used the m16 bayonet - m7? Maybe

I have the bayonet mount. You used to be able to buy them at Remington for $10, if you took the 870 Armours course. When Freedom Group took over anything that wasn't in the current catalogue was thrown out including all the bayonet mounts. Including the Mk1 bayonet adapter.

Those mounts sell stateside for more than these ONG 870’s were surplussed off for originally

Would have loved to have stumbled on that dumpster. Been looking to get one for almost a decade now to use as a reference for a long term repro project. Well, small business, as id like to make a few ;)
