K31 rechambered

Is the barrel not the same for 7.5 X55 and 30cal? NOT the chamber but just the barrel bore? The 30 cal bullet was developed off the GP11 projectile...

Yes the 7.5x55 is a .308 bore. This particular.30-30 could be used with pointed bullets as well since it uses a box magazine. Would be a fine deer rifle for sure.

I've had a couple of those rifles in the past. Never paid more than $100 for one though.

They're actions are glass smooth if properly lubed, but take a bit of getting used to, like all straight pull rifles.

There seems to be some concerns about the chamber sleeves coming out. I've never seen it happen. The one thing to check though is the joint where the sleeves stop in the leade. I did see one where the joint was a bit eroded but it didn't seem to have any effect on accuracy, which was very good

The rifles are actually a bit stronger than Model 94 lever actions and can handle slightly hotter loads along with (as mentioned) pointed bullets.

All of the modified rifles were relatively short and handy, fed well from the magazine, which you DON'T WANT TO LOSE. Leave it in the rifle, where it belongs. An empty magazine isn't a safety threat.
