Thought Id share some pics of my 07 muzzleloader buck I took near Moose Jaw Sk this a.m.
Im actually abit bummed out because he was in a little bachlor buck party and the lead buck was a true Booner Im guessing 175 -180 gross  but the big boy was alerted by a doe we bumped and he ran like hell out of range but this fellow made the mistake of looking back at about 125 yards and put a 250 gr. SST in his front shoulder. He ran about 30 yards and buckled :D
Heading out tommorrow morning to the same spot with my brother-inlaw and hope he tags Mister Big ;)
My goal this year was to bag a booner but I'll guess it'll have to wait till next. Still have a mulie buck tag so maybe..just maybe..I'll get a book buck this year.

Cheers!!

I really like the Savage for the fact its pretty maintence free. I clean the gun 1 once a year and shoots amazing, its one of the best shooting rifles Ive owned besides my Stevens .223 and Remington 788.
This is the gun Ive got listed, hard to part with after its taken many good sized whitetails.

Cheers!!

That one ain't nothin to complain about:)

I'm hoping to hammer one with some .250SST's as well this year. Our ML season isn't until Dec.

Very nice Buck.
What load & Sabot were you using ?

Im shooting 43 grs of SR4759, Hornaday 250 gr. SST. Im about 2.75" inches high at 100 yards and can pretty much hold the crosshairs on deer out to 200-225 yards before she nose dives.

I'll be posting some more pics if we bag the big buck tommorrow, Im really hoping we can tag him as it will be my brother-inlaws first whitetail. :)

Nice deer! Were you able to recover the SST? How many grains of powder were ya using or was it "pellets"?
Anyways good job!!,
I shoulda read:redface:
But any bullet recovery? How about a muzzle velocity?
Cheers

I was quite excited seeing there was no exit wound in hopes to find out what that SST would look like but never did find anything. I think they are pretty frangible, muzzleloading bullets are quite where rifle bullets are but it did kill the buck and hit him where I wanted so...I guess it did do its job :D
Im not sure on velocity I had it tested a few years back with this load but have lost the print out.

Cheers!! :pirate:
