Don't assume anything; Nork pistol sights often have some sort of locking compound on them; they take a strong blow with a punch and hammer to get them moving. Once moving, they are not exactly easy to move, but are much easier than they were.

Where did you get the +1 mag tube extension and spring, if you don't mind? I can't seem to find it anywhere in Canada (via google)...
 
I got one this week too. I was surprised how well the shotgun was made, it is nice and heavy. So far, all Remington 870 parts I tried appear to be an exact match (end cap, follower, spring retention cap, etc). I was very glad, as I've read that the previous versions had different end caps and thus would not fit the standard 870 mag tube extensions... but perhaps these were the Norinco models, from other distributors.

There was also a very nice gift in the box, which is much appreciated. I opened the box in front of a fellow gun owner just after receiving the package and he was very impressed with the shotgun. I'm fairly confident that the free gift put the whole deal over the top for him and secured you a new future customer, lol! :d

One question though... are the 14" Grizzlies still available in the non-mag fed version (standard tube mag). The website seems to only list the mag-fed version, twice :

I cant remember what year mine is. 2010 maybe. Mesa Tactical kit is a nice addition.

I think they're just sold out of 14 incher tube feds.. They only had a couple left about a week or week and a half go.

I see. Hopefully they will restock these soon enough. They are surprisingly very nice shotguns and I prefer the "no extra bulk" benefit of the tubular magazine. A +1 extension would make it perfect, both function and looks-wise (as the mag tube would then be flush with the 14" barrel).

By the way, the factory choke measures just about 17.5mm at the muzzle. This makes it about 0.690" to 0.700".

I just measured it with a caliper. Looks like these have a full choke.

If I bought a 14’’ barrel what choke would fit that barrel??? I have purchased a barrel from them and they haven’t messaged me back to tell me what size choke would fit the barrel...

I am curious: does anyone know how to find the production date of the Grizzly? I ask because I am also interested in adding on a rail for my shotgun but not sure which rail to order from Can Ammo. There are pre 2019 models and post 2019 models which take different rails.
 
Unsure, I noticed a lot of the Norinco guns looked to have the last two digits of the year in the serial numbers since around 2013ish. My 2019 14" grizzly serial is ###X19X . Anyone else with a 2019 production have 19 in the last 3 digits? Unless Canam can give a serial range/format or distinguishing features for production yrs.

From the same (latest) batch as yours I assume, mine is a 20. So the 5th and 6th digit can't be the year.

It looks like the last three or four digits are production unit numbers. The year of production is probably encoded in the second and/or third S/N digit.

As in : 014###X = 14th year of production. Production starting in 2005 on the old school tubular magazine models would make sense. Here's CanAm's promotion video from 2008 regarding the "all new" mag-fed model :

Hopefully CanAm has some knowledge about it, although even the original Remington 870's manufacturing dates can't be "decoded" from the S/N alone (only the manufacturer knows this info).

On genuine Remington 870's, the production year + month are actually stamped on the original barrel the gun came with, via a letter code. The DA Grizzly doesn't have any such markings. Here's info about how Remington does it :
