Mk 1 is milled, graduated from 200 to 1300 yards. There are no marks on it but it is designated Mk I.
Mk 3 is stamped and bears the designation mk II on the front side at top
mk 4 is also stamped but is marked MkIII or Mk3.
The Mk 2 is the L shaped battle sight mostly found on Savage Mfg rifles and only has a 200 and 400 yd aperature.
Charles Stratton's book on the No 4 and % rifles has all this info and more.
I thought the L shaped Savage sights were graduated from 300 to 600 yards??
I was wondering if there is any major difference between the different types of rear sights found on the No. 4 enfield and if any one outperforms the other.
