I have the list and looked through it a bunch of times. I see ATRS - AR15, and their 50 cal stuff, but I did not see Hunter/Varminter?

why are you drawing attention to what they don't have on the list?

would you consider retitling it and leaving out names?

Yes please re-title post. Remember this forum is public and fudds scan our board all the time.

ATRS MS And Varmets are not *yet* on the list. Considering they've set precedent now with an OIC, it's merely a stroke of the pen.

That said, the ATRS AT-15 was specifically mentioned. So assuming MS and Varmits okay for now.

An no, you can't legalize "modern-semi". That is not a defined term. Logic the same as why "assault rifle" was never fully defined. This type of legal ambiguity is not enforceable - hence a list of 1,500 specifics.

If you guys don't think they are keeping an eye on what guns sell over the next couple weeks and planning on adding them to the list, you're fooling yourselves. A post like this isn't going to make them cry out "Oh ##### we missed one!"

the OIC literally states at the end if gun owners get rid of their AR's for example and all rush out to buy something else, they will add that to the list as well.

I went through this yesterday.

Some folks seem intent on beating their chests and screaming about all the guns they are surprised ain't on the list.

They'll tell you that you're weak for not following suit, that they shouldn't have to live like that etc etc.

I sense they have a bunch of guns on the ban list (as do I to be clear) so they have nothing to lose.

Regarding why some guns are not on the list, never underestimate the level of incompetence in government, usually it works against the average Joe but in this instance it has worked for them.

I personally get a kick out of the Liberals not being as smart as they think they are and I have no intention of helping them.

By the looks of it anything stanag is done. The list specifically is for the more random things like the shotguns, that arent specifically banned by action.

So if you own a modern sporter and despite it not being on the list, its banned by action\style.

And then semi auto shotguns are ok, unless they are on the list.

Its actually pretty straight forward.

What?? no where does it say anything semi auto is prohib. Nor does it say anything that accepts any AR-15 magazine is prohib. It doesn't even say parts are prohib. Mearly upper and lowers of any AR-15 pattern are prohib. As the MS and Macabee are not AR15 or AR10 derivitives they are spared. They are their own unique designs that just happen to use AR15 parts.

This is my take too.

I have several rifles that I searched the list for and they aint on there.

I think I will leave this a couple of days until everything settles down.

sooo... we are to infer by the look of my rifle that it now a prohib?? cause it is black, or maybe cause it has the famous flip up thing?

That is good legislation right there!!!

It is off to Court for this mess.

Here is the thing. There is no definition of variant. You will note that the listed guns are prohibited as are their variants. So it is a little premature to suggest that guns not listed are not affected. It is also worth noting that the BCL 102 is listed as a variant as of today, whereas for years is was listed as a non restricted non variant.
