Registration Certificates - Update?

So for those like me that sold their uppers and got only a lower left, is it mandatory to update the reg cert to Stripped lower only?
My reg cert has a barrel length, and it has no barrel at all now, lol, not even an upper receiver.

Gotta call the RCMP to have your firearms changed to receiver only. I just called them, you have 30 days to inform them after the change.

Does this have to be done by phone or can you write a letter (registered) instead within the 30 day period? Having a difficult time getting through on the phone.

By the way the address for the Canada Firearms Center is 171 Duke St, Miramichi, NB E1N 1H9 if anyone is thinking along the same lines.

Had that done for awhile, it's easy, called in Thursday past for a reprint of all my certs

Like I said, I called today, had to tried 3 times, but was able to the line in a respectable time and it is pretty fast by phone to get your statuts up to date.

Why do you even care anymore. The government just made you a criminal. Its not even legal to register ARs at all any more and your old certificate is inaccurate and likely to be revoked soon anyways.

The desire of gun owners to try to comply with the whims of a morally bamkrupt government is precisely why we get these stupid laws in the first place.

Trudeau legalized marijuana for the plain and simple reason that millions of canadians were doing it anyways and it was an embarassment for the government.

If you want these laws repealed then stop trying to follow them.

Be a good person. Dont initiate violence against anyone. Help your neighbor. Give to charity. And FVCK Trudeaus gun laws.

If so, that means they havent updated their databases yet.

Oh an here is a fun fact. If your prohibited device is an integral part of a firearm then its not a prohibited device. Ie handgun barrels shorter than 105mm that are attached to a 12.6.1 registered handgun are not a prohibited device, they are a component in a prohibited firearm. When you take the barrel off, it becomes a prohibited device. So too with your upper.

You have 30 days to report it, so as long as you sold, crushed, melted, chopped up or threw your upper into a volcano before Friday you're good to go.

i do not see an upper without a barrel as being prohibited before the 1st of may 2020 ...

I await my reg cert with interest. s.12(2) probably. Maybe 12(6).

I was told by CFC yesterday that there's no way there's 2 receivers to an AR15 thus could not change the barrel length without having it examined by a certified armourer contacting the lab for me.

They are IDIOTS, it's a modular rifle, so it HAS 2 parts, minimum

Your registration will either say Restricted, or you will not receive it. The computer system will not authorize them to issue a registration certificate if the database does not show that you have the required license to possess that class of firearm.

Sincer there is no authority for them to issue you a license under 12.8 of the firearms for a firearm that was prescribed to be prohibited by OIC, they shouldn't be reissuing the certificate. There are a hundred other situations that are murkey based on the text of what they did, so who knows.

They are all incompetent busy bodies. I'm surprised that so many gun owners expect them to have a clue. They are all just ants marching towards their pension.
