CPC Leadership

I feel like a lot of people will vote for her just because she's a woman, or just because she's black. Which is great! Some of the people I know put very little thought into who they were voting for last year and should've just stayed home. Example, my cousin, early 30s, went with her husband (who voted for the liberals because Scheer was "a homophobic bigot") said she voted for the green party. She then went home and looked up their platform and regretted her decision saying she didn't agree with it. I figure there's gotta be a lot more people like that out there.

When it comes to Consevative leadership, we need to consider not only the candidate who beat represents our views, but the one who is best able to beat Trudeau. The absolute best chance we have is Leslyn Lewis. She’s not only brilliant, she’s moderate and attractive to all viewpoints. You want to get rid of Trudeau? Vote for Lewis.

Sorry is this has been posted already, but this is the letter I got from Lewis’s campaign today, regard Trudeau’s bull#### ban:

Last week I announced that as Prime Minister I would repeal the undemocratic and ineffective Liberal firearm ban.

The disrespect that Justin Trudeau showed for Parliament and for law-abiding gun owners is amazing.

And there's more to come.

Media coverage broke over the weekend that revealed that there are more bans coming.

The facts remain: none of these Liberal policies will do anything to stop gun smuggling at the border, or keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

But here's another angle that Justin Trudeau likely hasn't considered at all.

These Liberal gun bans are yet another blow against the economy.

There are over 4500 small and medium-size businesses that sell firearms, and employ over 40,000 people across the country.

These businesses will now be stuck with large amounts of inventory that is suddenly illegal for them to sell or export. That includes ammunition that was used at completely legal gun ranges.

Businesses that cannot absorb these losses will need to cut jobs or shut down completely.

Remember when Justin Trudeau said that as Prime Minister he would stand up for jobs? That was his talking point when it came to why he was trying to interfere with the prosecution of SNC Lavalin.

The same concern doesn't seem to be there it comes to oil and gas jobs, and now anyone who makes a living selling firearms.

I have promised to review all of Canada's gun laws, to make sure they're actually helping protect the public from criminal activity. These bans will be repealed, and we will adopt a common sense approach to all other gun laws.

I believe in cracking down hard on smuggled firearms.

I believe in empowering police forces to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

I want to lead a government that respects legal gun owners in Canada, instead of one that treats gun owners with contempt and disrespect.

I promise to bring common sense back to Canada’s approach to firearms and review our firearms legislation to make it clear, practical and purposeful instead of adding more legislation to our already confusing laws.

Help me fight for law-abiding gun owners across Canada by making a donation today.

Together we can create a Canada lead with courage, compassion and common sense.

Sincerely,

Leslyn Lewis

I've been on the fence for awhile. Having the same old Fudds won't get us nowhere.
Rempel I like and she could hold the west, but Lewis could win Toronto. Right now, Ford's gaining popularity again. If we expect to win you need Toronto in a big way.

Ford is killing it right now. He and Horgan seem to unify everyone in their provinces. Interesting circumstances bring out the best/worst in some people.

My primary concern with Lewis is that the Liberals (and by extension, the media) will just focus on her stance on abortion. If you look at the interviews she's done, that's all the hosts want to talk about, and it'll take up all the oxygen in the room. That said, if it's her or another old white guy, the odds of her getting the 905 and, dare I even hope, one or two in the 416 might be better.

As for MacKay, yes he's a red Tory, but if he sees his party base being expanded by the thousands by pissed off firearms enthusiasts, I would expect that he would play the consummate politician and appease that base. He's not going to run on firearms reform, but I would trust that he'd repeal the OiC and he'd repeal C-71 in an omnibus budget bill, maybe make some changes to classifications, but no more than that. He would eat into a chunk of the Liberal seat count in Atlantic Canada. He's fluently bilingual, so that helps in QC. He would also eat Trudeau for lunch and dinner in a debate in any language.

Sloan has about as good a chance of winning the leadership race or a general election as the Leafs have of winning the Cup this year or next.

I like O'Toole. He's known in Ontario, he's a 905 MP, retired military, tells it like it is, etc.. But he's just another old white guy. As much as I think he'd be the best PM of the group of them, I don't think he could win a general.

I've been a party member for years and this is the first time I've had to sit here seriously questioning who I vote for.

We are desperately in need of a strong CPC party. Please contact the prospective leadership candidates and ask what they plan to do with this Liberal OIC.

Then make your choice and join the CPC everyone over age of 14 can join the CPC get all your family on board. Only purchase a one year membership and do not include a donation, explain that you will only pay for results.

Hurry as I believe the deadline for membership in order to vote in the CPC leadership race is May 14th.

John you and several other business owners had a meeting with Blair about a year of two ago. After the meeting none of the participants were willing to say what was discussed. Just out of curiosity, what was discussed? and why none of you were willing to comment then? Please respond otherwise we were always be left thinking that something secret was planned.

Wear condoms?

true dat. But what I meant was that when you get away from urban areas, the NDP and LPC aren't as compatible as people think. Nudging rural NDP supporters/candidates away from the LPC and toward the CPC isn't as far-fetched as it sounds. As long as the CPC doesn't get to churchy.

Never been a party supporter in Canada in 22 years of voting eligibility.

Just bought a 2 year CPC membership and donated to Dr. Leslyn Lewis, whom I will be casting my ballot for on May 15th, and left a small donation.

She seems to be an actual human being and not a politician.

I hope her and O'Toole can work together to lead this country out of this nightmare.

Re-Upped my CCFR and CSSA memberships as well.
