so if I set the choke on cylinder would I run into any issues shooting this stuff out of my old Stevens 58. I can't pattern this at my range now because they banned steel shot as well as anything that sticks to a magnet.

This is what I am getting out of an Improved Cylinder choke at 20 meters .... that should give you an idea .... but every gun is different ....

Best bet is to go to the country where you can shoot. Ic should be fine for up to 30 yds. Might try something closer to mod choke. I can’t remember what choke is best with BC. Try #2.#1, BBs.

my problem is I don't want to damage the adjustable choke this gun is from 1957 or so it also has a 2 3/4" chamber and its hard finding black cloud 2 3/4". and as far as shooting in the county theirs no crown land here in Essex county.

id like to get bismuth shot and reload for the old girl but a bag cost about the same as a newer pump shotgun.

Why insist of using black cloud. I could not find any practical difference to other 2 3/4" steel shot. Well they are usually more expensive I give em that.

I have a box that's all was going to use my norinco couch gun as a canoe gun but no canoe yet so I may rent a blind next year at one of the conservation areas. its also supposed to preform better with open chokes because of the wad construction.

I've patterned black cloud, blind side, powershok federal steel, Kent and imperial in improved cylinder and was not able to see much difference. If anything the powershoks may have had a slightly denser pattern.

hopefully I have a newer shotgun by next season and will buy the cheapest stuff that patterns well.
