Any of you folks know anything about Mirokus?...

So...the wife wanted an O/U. I found a Miroku for a good price and pulled the trigger, it needed a lever return spring, not a big deal. It arrived and she checked it out and *LOVES* it. It's actually really nice, they're just absolutely covered in gorgeous engraving work. So, instead of working off a normal hinge they've got a kind of captive hinge plate thing going on. So I went online, actually found a video on how to replace the lever return spring somehow, all was well and...can't get it back together. The hinge plates need to be opened so they can close when the barrel is put on and shut but they're locked closed. Any ideas?

I'm assuming there's a release pin that gets depressed by the hinge section of the barrel but I can't find anything and she really wants her gun back together and is starting to get doubtful. Please help!!!

Are you keeping the top lever over to the right (in the open position)? With the top lever in the open position, you should be able to see where the cocking lever (or rod or whatever this design uses) sets the hammers.

The Miroku guns are very well constructed but finding one that isn't worn mostly out is a challenge these days. You did good by getting the correct top lever spring for it since there are at least 4 different springs for Miroku guns and parts are getting harder to find all the time.

If I understand what your asking correctly, your last picture shows a hinged plate in front of the trigger guard. You should be able to attach the barrels regardless if this plate is open or closed but if it's closed then the top lever will not be held to the right so you must hold the lever to the right with your thumb while attaching the barrels. If you hold the top lever to the right and then push this plate into the open position then you should be able to release the top lever and have it stay to the right while you attach the barrels.

This should work, give it a try. I don't believe Browning and older Miroku parts are not interchangeable but I might be wrong.
