STI Trojan or Ranger II

I have a Trojan in 40 cal and like it very much. I would like to get a 9mm or a 45 ACP this time and cannot decide which one to get. I like the Ranger II but don't care about the fixed sight. Is a bull barrel better than a barrel with a bushing ? All inputs would be appreciated.
 
I love my Ranger II in 9MM. The fixed sights are fine for day but I am getting a fiber optic front as when I used it for stuff in the dark. Gunnar also has a adjustable rear, and 3 dot tritium.

I really like the rear sight so I think that should be a good combo. The barrel and "recoil master" guide rod setup is working fine.

I wasnt aware of adjustable night sights?? there s the heinie tritium sights as an option but they re not adjustable ?? any link or pics??

I like the factory sights on my Trojan and I don't really want to spend another 200 dollar to put better sights on Ranger II. Any more options ?
 
I would say go with the Trojan. 5" government model 1911s tend to be the most reliable of the bunch. The more a gun deviates from Browning's original design (i.e. shortened slide/frame, bushingless barrel, recoil buffer), the less reliable it is likely to be. Do a search on this board and you'll see that some people are having reliability issues with their Rangers.
 
If you are looking for the accuracy on 20+ ft take the Trojan, better in 45.
Rangemaster II in 9mm is good for 10-15 IPSC shooting only and very tolerant to ammo, from my experience. By the way, you can buy STI snag-free adjustable sights and put on Rangemaster.

I think the reliability issue takes care of its self after a break in period of 1000 rnds.I know it took mine about 1000rnds before it is functioning flawlesly.
