First they came for the firearms and I did not speak up because I didn't own any firearms, then they came for the sports cars and I did not speak up because I didn't own a sports car, then they came for the video games and I didn't speak up because I don't play video games, then they came for the hobbies I participate in and there was no one left to speak up
 
Those are some mighty expensive guns to buy back.

Besides the major question of random and arbitrary enforcement of this shotgun ban, there's the question of the businesses that sell them. While it's exceptionally unlikely that anyone will be convicted for their shotgun no business can possibly take the risk of selling them. So now no one can buy their normal duck guns.

I had assumed that the "expanded muzzle" portion is in the context of a blunderbuss-type musket where the barrel itself flares outwards at the muzzle.

Yup. No one needs a car that goes over 100km/hr,, no one needs to smoke tobacco or drink alcohol,, no one needs unhealthy food, no one needs a motorcycle...all things that kill more people than guns. Only a matter of time until these items are also on the chopping block, if there is no indivual liberty

Yes so think of a shotgun barrel that has a fixed choke of whatever type.
Do we measure the entire length of the barrel right to the muzzle? Yes
Is the end of the muzzle the largest interior diameter of the barrel? No

If you ask the same questions with a removable choke the muzzle will become the largest interior diameter.

That should help explain why this is an issue.

A friend of mine was in the local Canadian Tire. Apparently all the 12 gauge shotguns are still on the rack an available for sale.
