I've decided I would like one of these in .223 and would like to hear from those of you that have one. Ideally I would put a NECG peep on it.
Thoughts?
And I have been looking everywhere for one with no luck ☹

I have the 527 223rem synthetic carbine. And the necg peep. Accurate setup with peep sight. Never tried it with the iron sights. I may sell my peep sight cuz I like how it looks with the factory iron sights. Been contemplating selling my 527 carbine tho cuz I have two many 223’s. Very nice little quick pointing rifle. Light weight smooth bolt

I have both a .223 and a 7.62x39 and they are both dandy. The 7.62x39 is my favourite of the two but the stock split on me. I repaired it, had it glass bedded, etc and this is so common on the 7.62 527s that I highly recommend it even before firing. Both shoot better than a wood stocked carbine should and they are so handy. The 7.62 took my last three bucks with a Federal Fusion bullet and if you had told me ten years ago that I would own and enjoy any 7.62x39 rifle, I would have laughed at you.

The .223 struggles with bullets heavier than about 62 grains due to the 1-9 twist. I would love to have one with a 1-7 barrel that handled the 77 grain loads better. They produce rounds holes and ok groups at 100 metres but they are really beyond what it can handle. Many would say no .223 needs the heavier pills but I like them. 55 and 62 grain loads are happy with the 1-9".

I wish now that I had of waited and bought a full stock .223 because I would have fitted the 7.62 action into the full stock and what a beauty of a full stock carbine that would have been!

I suppose with real hunting ammo the 7.62x39 isn’t so bad but I don’t care for it due to the crappy steel ammo. 308 is more ideal to me for that reason but I do see why some like the x39 caliber

I have one. 1-12" twist. Accuracy is not great with 60 gr +, though the holes are still round.

The trigger was gritty and creepy to begin with, but it was easy to adjust to a decent pull. I don't even bother with the set trigger. Backwards safety is a bit of a pita, but I've gotten used to it. I wish they had used a normal staggered row, fixed box magazine like a real Mauser. The detachable mag hangs down right where I want to carry the rifle.

9.3Mauser, nice looking rifle. Mine needed the trigger adjusting but is a simple enough job with the screw / bolt CZ have on their trigger units I found.

I think the CZ527s are going towards 1:9 now. Mine certainly likes the Federal Fusion 62gr softpoints

I have been thinking of buying one of these as well now that my only .223 rifle is recently classified as prohib. I love my CZ 452 .22lr, I imagine one of these would be great as well. My other thought is the Kel-Tec SU16, it has some appeal for me as well though the CZ is certainly the better constructed and finished rifle and no doubt substantially more accurate, but these are two totally different rifles(maybe subliminally I'm telling myself I should buy both?).

I have an ebony in .223 23” tapered barrel 12 twist. It is very perfect for rapid expansion with 40-55 grain ballistic tips.

I have a 7.62x39.

I haven't owned as many high end firearms as some folks on this forum, but this rifle is worth much more than you pay for it, even with the inflated prices.

Mine had a stock split and I still like it.

I went for the skinner sight, it requires a couple of holes to be drilled and tapped in the rear scope base but looks a lot lower profile than the NECG site.

I'd imagine with good ammo a .223 model would be very accurate, as my iron sighted rifle with non corrosive norinco ammo shoots very well.

I have a 527 Carbine in 223/556 with a 1:9 twist. It's plenty accurate and a joy to handle. The NECG peep is nice, but there's nothing wrong with the factory irons. Removing the rear sight so you can use the NECG leaves an ugly gap in the barrel if you ask me.

527 in 7.62×39 it’s a beautiful handy rifle and shot deer with it under 200 yards with zero difficulty. Using good ammo is paramount. People who shoot cheap lacquered ammo have problems extracting. A great rifle.

I would not think there is need for peep sights. The factory sights are quite nice and fully adjustable on rifles after 2014 production .223 with the 1:9 twist. The wood stocked models have a different, more oil rubbed finish than the lacquered pre 2014, 1:12 twist models. Also the front sight hood is slotted on the later models and the bolt better optimized for lower scope mounting. They handle nicely and can shoot accurate to boot. There is a test target included in the box when you buy new. It is digital however.

I have a wood stock CZ 527 in .223 and it is an amazing rifle for what you pay. Iron sights that come with it are good (haven't used the NECG, have a Vortex 2-7 on it currently), and the trigger is fantastic. Superb quality little rifles. I keep 2 spare mags on the butt with a Strike Hard Gear Mosin Nagant pouch. Easily my favorite gun to carry for varmints.

I’ve got a 7.62x39 synthetic version with factory u-notch sights. Great little unit. My wife claimed it pretty quickly, once she looped up and blasted a couple of mags worth. No complaints from me here.
I would like to install rear aperture sights on mine.
