Out of curiosity- Is the length of the upper receiver close to the OAL of a AR lower receiver (8.7ish inches)? I know you mentioned bolt body is shorter so wonder if you shortened the receiver a bit as well? Just thinking about build options and what would need for barrel/ stock length to keep over 26 inches.

My thoughts exactly! Short barrels not a problem with these as long as we have our 26 inches collapsed. Very interested!

Just an update for everyone!
We are finished programming the upper and we are now finishing off the lower programming. The bolt body is finished as well, but we do need to make more vise jaws for it.
Wasn't there a prototype that had ambi ejection ports as well?

Okay, fair enough. I could have sworn I saw a version where the ejection ports and slots for the bolt handle were cut out on both sides. Oh well, still interested!
I wish it opened after firing and ejected, So we only had to slide the bolt forward again by hand.
Can't wait for sale to start on these.

I’m wondering what the shortest barrel we could use would be, if we were using a rifle-length, A2 stock - 10.5? or would we have to go up to 12?
Just curious here. Can this actually be fired without the buffer tube, and if so would the buffer tube actually be counted as part of the 26" overall length. Or would you need an 18" barrel plus the 8" receiver to get to 26 inches. I don't care either way, I'm in for 2 at least!.
If you plan on using the firearm without the buttstock then the length of the barrel plus the receiver will have to be 26 inches combined. To have the short barrel, you'll need to compensate somewhere to have the minimum 26 inch overall length which is why you'll need the buffer tube and buttstock. Make sense?

My perception was that the buffer tube is counted in the overall length of an AR-15 because it will not function properly with the buffer tube removed. I am specifically referring to US rules here as I understand that in Canada that the AR-15 was restricted status in Canada, regardless of the length.
In the case of the Spectre LPC, it will function properly with the buffer tube, and it can be 'easily' removed. Would that not exclude the buffer tube as being counted as part of the Spectre LPC's 26" overall length as it pertains to maintaining its NR status in Canada?
