Had to remember to get away from the politics

All the politics were really starting to get under my skin. Then I realized that I hadn’t gone for a range trip since it all began. So I grabbed my 455 Canadian and a few hundred rounds of CCI standard and headed out. Getting outside and plinking for a few hours was the best thing I could have done. I came back feeling refreshed and de-stressed.
Just a reminder to myself and hopefully others to not lose sight of the core reasons you enjoy our sport.

Agree with you. I hadn't been to the range for months either. Took a couple 22 rifles and a handgun to our range. Totally forgot about the issues surrounding us. Just concentrated on shooting. Had fun. And came home feeling like new. It's a great sport.

I should clarify the range I use is on private property and set up by myself. No fees or social distancing required. I can relate to those reliant on ranges requiring membership and lineups and now closures. I thank my lucky stars that I have this awesome place to use.

You lucky bastard! I know how you may feel: all cooped up, crappy weather, and no target shooting! It's enough to drive you slightly batty. :)

But at least I found a Marlin 989 M2 to buy. Looks to be in very good condition and I can't wait for it to arrive. I had one of these 30 years ago - I had bought it from a shop for squirrel and rabbit hunting and it was such a great little rifle. I eventually sold it for some stupid reason and got out of shooting and hunting for a while. I always wished I never sell it.

Cheers,
Neil

I wish, my range in Ottawa is closed. Would love to take my out my.... oh wait.. nvm... all my guns are prohibited. Damn, should have bought more boring guns..

I've been out a few times with my new Bergara B14R to do some relaxed shooting. Gonna hit the range again as soon as the wind eases off a tad.
I'll bring along me CZ 452's on the next "therapy session" to accompany the Bergara.
:)
