Fires .410, and .45's.

6" barrel is the only model I could see getting in here. Anyone know where to get one in Candaduh? Specifically Lower mainland B.C.?

Is Taurus a good manufacturer? Never seen one up close. These things look like the ticket for someone who doesn't want to go through too many walls.

Every Taurus I've seen looked as good or better then other quality guns out there. My .44mag has been pretty good....

I'm very happy with my Taurus' and I have been throwing around the idea of that Judge since it was in G & A over a year ago.

Without a doubt good for home defense, load it with .410, then .45 colt, then .410 etc. Give 'em some options

Can be ordered from almost any gun shop from Vancouver to Chilliwack, but it will take 6 to 8 weeks

And when people tell you that handguns can't be used for 'home defense', tell them to #### themselves ;)

Taurus guns look great in the pictures. I just wanted your opinions. Thanks. I will probably go for the stainless version. Are the grips comfortable?

Are there five shot speed loaders, or will I have to make some?

An interesting mod I have seen was done by Lonewolf in ID. They took the Judge(formerly marketed at the 44 Ten and claimed to shoot 410, 45LC and 44-40) and added a screw in choke which made a huge difference with 410 patterns. Pretty neat but they have the luxury of being able to hunt with handguns or carry in the wild without an ATC. Strange looking beast but it feels just dandy and functions well. I have no problem with Taurus, altho the in country Customer Service is lacking, the guns themselves are very good indeed.
Cheers:)

I think that if you are considering a .410 for self defense in a pistol like that.. that you've defeated the purposeo fhaving a firearm. you have a firearm to keep the person away.. why have to wait until the person gets 10' away before you can shoot?? or you can fumble around and not know if you have a 410 or a 45 in that first chambers etc. etc.. just get an 870 and be done with it.

You need Mossberg 500 with 18" barrel and pistol grips (front and back).
Load it with buckshot.

Tracker looks nice but try to shoot it with one hand first, you'll see
if you can handle it.

I am waiting for Richardoldfield to chime in here :)
Though I don't mind the Taurus guns myself, they do have terrible customer service and they tend not to honor their warranty the way they should.

But a nice gun all the same.

You may want to have a look at Questars website for this. .45 colt/.410
Maybe something of interest.

Although that is one of the nicest looking Derringers I have seen...are you just teasing me?
Obviously 12(6). Out of the question for myself.
At the moment, I am considering Canam's 8.5", or 12.5" mag fed shottie for the purpose. A little long still for a small bedside lock box, but non restricted at least. The .410 would be a little easier to handle, and is good at the range a home invader would be, unless he was fleeing, in which case I couldn't do much with it anyway. I just don't want anything to get through the walls too much.
Both options would give me five shots, the mag fed shottie being easier to reload would be my preference. Would you recommend a pistol grip fore stock to control it better? I don't have shot gun experience.

Wow, expensive little tyke! I would still favour the looks of the shottie to help me never to have to actually use it. Those 12 guages look big from the business end.

Agreed....myself I use a Glock 17 with a Light/Laser Site....the sound of the slide racking and the red light on their nose should turn them away.

Oops...didn't mean to run the thread off course.
