Can you carry a loaded pistol in your house

Lol yup you can.

Legally, as in if the RCMP pigeons were watching- only if you have an approved range or are in immediate threat of serious bodily harm or death. You can only legally load a firearm where you are legally allowed to discharge it.

You can carry strapped UNLOADED in your house, practice drawing, trigger control etc, all good.
Loaded mag with empty chamber is not a loaded gun either. Stay legal and safe.

Only if your dwelling place is the place were it is legal to discharge your pistol ...

..lol Trouble? likely on the ground, assuming the position...or worse! If you live 'Rural' & have some concern with Predators around..Coyotes/Bear etc. which can threaten you, your live stock, your animals, pets etc. you can have a NR, unlocked, at the 'ready', {in any '3' sided dwelling} but the ammo cannot be chambered. Maybe a 12 Gauge with a side saddle at most.

There definitely is a case out there where a non restricted firearm was left loaded next to the back door as the farmer was having predator control issues and it was found to be in use, not stored. I cant remember the cases name.

But there's also this one- shotgun trigger locked with rounds loaded in a side saddle leaning on the wall. No go.
