Anybody now of any shops that are ithaca dealers? Do they have a warranty centre in Canada?

Heard lots about these shotguns but none are on shelves.

Any info on these?

Thanks

Well. Last time I checked it was supposed to be ##### Armory in Penticton BC. But a recent scan of thier website I don't see any more Ithaca shotguns for sale.

Maybe shoot them an email ??

Edit: I pulled a no no. They are not a contributor I guess.
The forum blanked out the name automatically.

Ithaca Model 37 Featherlights regularly come up on the EE. Strangely, they often sell for rather cheap or at least very reasonable prices despite being an awesome shotgun (ie often cheaper than some Rem 870 Express or Mossberg on EE). They may be less modular and have less aftermarket gidgets to play with but the short, smooth stroke, good quality, etc make for a great, simple shotgun as is.

Thanks all. Yeah im gonna keep an eye on the EE AND i sent them an email.

Its odd they still manufacture them but seem to have no distribution or support in Canada.

As I understood, the Ithaca is essentially the same gun as the Browning BPS and based on same patents - is either 1 noticeably better than the other?

I would agree. I think the only differences are the ithaca 37 is steel on steel everywhere, threaded barrel and difference on the safety. Everything is hand fit and machined to really tight tolerances.

I ordered a new Ithaca 28ga last year through Prophet River, they can still order guns for you directly from Ithaca although they are no longer a distributor. Depending on what model 37 you want, getting one from Ithaca may be a pain. I'm not sure whats going on there but doesn't seem like business as usual, a lot of 37's you cant even get now, says they're 'out of stock' especially the 28g and 20g versions.

I thought I heard somewhere it's a very small cell at Ithaca that build the 28 gauge.
Maybe three employees max.

PS: if you do purchase a 28 then checkout the Winchester one ounce birdshot load in lead.
It's got pretty good authority and pattern but it's not easy to find in stores.

yes, we can still order direct from them.

Funny you say this. Thier current distributor in Penticton whom I cannot name, had zero Ithaca shotguns in stock as of yesterday and very few factory parts.
Which is kind of odd considering last year they had several brand new ones in thier store?

I suspect they've been closed for the last couple of months, they never answered any of the emails I sent them weeks ago.

They both load through the bottom, that is where the similarities end. The m37 has a smaller reciever, is much lighter and far better balanced. The BPS is a nice gun too, but not M37 nice.
