Or drill and tap the gas port and install a plug screw. A simple sleeve would work, of course. Gas port could be blocked and a front sight base installed if an iron sight on the barrel were desired.

I would hope its low priority. I was just saying that you had mentioned it and if gas block are prohibited in NZ then it would be an option down the road. Right now you need to dedicate as much time to making receiver sets as humanly possible. There’s a vacuum that these will help fill right now. My plan is to either run the gas block backwards as you suggest or have my machine shop spin up a couple quick barrel sleeves to block it off.

We've just been running without anything. It's been totally fine.

I guess if guns like this and the PAR/SAR become popular in Canada, someone is sure to start turnng out premium replacement barrels with no gas port or journal. Something like this with a carbon wrap barrel would probably be a very practical light weight gun.

One other thing I would request would be a dog leg UK style charging handle

Question for you guys. I'd be looking to build a 300 HAM'R on this receiver. I understand it used 5.56mm parent case, so the bolt is fine. How do I get a .30 Cal barrel with the correct chamber (.308 win) without buying an AR10 barrel extension? Or does that not matter?

Nevermind. I understand I need a .300 HAM'R barrel. I'll try and source one.

Troy PAR's are about to be banned in NZ if the govt gets there way with the second round of gun laws.

Aren't you guys due an election soon?

Isn't it high time old horse face went back to being a DJ and you elect someone that works for the best interests of the folks there?

And $800 for the receiver set. Very reasonable. Thanks for that. You're doing good stuff in Sherwood Park. :)

Would you say that someone who could assemble an AR could assemble this from parts gleaned from a horrible-evil-kill-the-most-people rifle? I'm assuming it'll be kinda plug-and-play like the AR, yeah?
