Emergency Response Team - pics

That didn't answer my question. I'm just curious what's useless.

And nvm. I guess everyone knows best from their myopic.

I answered your questions. Dbal/Atpial, are they doing night operations in war zones arresting Afghan natives?

Is this the best use of tax payer dollars? How about investing millions into the boarder to stop drugs and guns coming across or at least more training...

"Both were shot by members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team in an attempted rescue during a hostage crisis. At around 9:30 pm on March 28, 2019, McEwan was taken hostage by her boyfriend, Crosson, in a home in the 13300 block of 98A Avenue in Surrey's Whalley neighbourhood.[168] A 10-hour standoff ensued, which culminated at about 7:30 am the following day when law enforcement, believing the victim was about to be murdered, raided the bedroom where the victim was being held. As police fired, Crosson used McEwan as a human shield. Both individuals were fatally hit. Crosson died at the scene while McEwan, who police shot twice, passed away in hospital. No charges were laid against the officers as the investigation into the incident by the Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia determined that they had acted appropriately and Crosson is entirely at fault for McEwan's death."

Cansof guys help train the horse police tac teams. If you put a dbal on you arent taking it off just because the sun is up and they are equipped for night ops w NV if they are RCMP tac officers. I get what youre saying but they do have use for them from what I understand. Its not like they are just putting 1k lasers on for fun and taking them off during the day because its so heavy.

Laugh2 - night operations!

Whatever you want to call it. They apparently have NV. Sorry. Ops. I didnt realize I was speaker to a member of the Dwyer hill gang who knows what rcmp ert members should run better than themselves.... I was being nice. If you think they should remove the lasers because they are too heavy or because its daylight that's ####ing comical. Lmfao.

Or maybe a bunch of qualified doorkickers know better than you. There's a thought.

Dude,

We had 2 police shootings in 2019 and 2 by RCMP ERT - Hostage and her boyfriend.

All that gear they have on is kool but 95% completely useless.

Take it anyway you want but it a joke that our RCMP ERT teams are dressing as CANSOFCOM and running around with silencers, 5-10k night vision systems, eotchs, magnifiers, 1-8 scopes, 350k armored vehicles, etc.

Complete waste of tax payers money.

I get your point but they are trained by them (amoung other means) so maybe it's one of those "good for the goose" things that is just redundancy and keeping things similar. But yea I do see your point when you put dollar values on things haha

10:4 - cost vs benefit. It's not the gear that makes our boys good its 1,000,000 of rounds down the range.

Lol If I saw those guys walk up/in a coffee shop I'd walk up to them asking to which airsoft club they belong to... their 'uniforms' aren't even the same.

The guy on the right in black is either thinking "ahh man these guys are soo cool!" or "wow, look at these wannabes".

Also, wtf is up with that barrel in the air photo pose garbage.

Does your mom know you're posting online?

Have you guys considered the guy in multi-cam might be JTF2 attached with ERT? He's the only one wearing a mask and his face is blurred out in one of the photos.

Also you don't take a laser off during the day and put it back on at night because it wont be zeroed.

Unlikely for the first part.

Bang on for the second: dont remove optics and other devices used to make a shot

Guy on the right will be your K9 operator...

All true, but what the hell are they being issued ir lasers, nvgs, and silencers?

You think they getting ready to raid your house DT and need every advantage they can buy. :p

These will be the people kicking in your door, potentially killing you and your family if you dont go along with the ban. Don't see why people are glorifying them here. They exist to use lethal force against anyone out of line.

Suppressors for hearing damage reduction, better communication when things go loud, less possibility of civilian hearing damage lawsuit. Do ERTs not train for low-light/no light conditions? Having good quality night vision is a bad thing for this profession?

I would bet a paycheque that you wouldn’t say “ boo” to them.

Again, where are these “orders” people keep referring to? Who is glorifying them? Half the people commenting on here clearly are police haters. The other half seem to be arguing about gear and trying to actually shed some light on ert deployments. One poster predictably cherry picked a brief summary about an ert deployment which resulted in the death of the hostage. If the poster actually knew the finer details of the incident they might realize that things do go sideways from time to time.

Yes could be a “pose” although the muni ERT guys I know had a unofficial penalty and fine system set up if their picture was taken and anything that looked like a pose was a fine worthy offense. It becomes a source of much humor and the offending party is given the gears.

Truth be told the “high port” position is taught as a valid carry position, albeit its best suited for moving through crowds so you can present the rifle with less chance of muzzle sweeping unintended persons. These guys often move in small groups or stacks so again it’s not unreasonable.

McEwan's chances of coming out of this alive would have been so much better if this had been handled by a genuine professional hostage rescue team, similar to - but not necessarily that one - the specially trained military unit Canada has. In fact, she probably would still be alive today. And only Crosson dead.
