So... I'm the President of Dynamic Sport Shooting BC Association... I have almost 700 members in the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley of BC who participate in mulitgun matches... But apparently the AR15 we use for our primary sporting platform has no sporting purpose... Despite the fact we have codified rules, a qualifier, sponsors and scores... Who else in Canada uses a now prohibited firearms for sport?!? Thinking of judicial review... Please PM me if you are involved in organized gun games using AR platform rifles...

Already a potential group of 20 people. The more people the lower the cost per person.

Yup, I bought an ar15 for the use in service rifle matches back in 2013ish. Specifically for competition sport shooting. I would not have spend a penny on it otherwise. As of last year I used it excursively for 3 gun. I even took a first place in one. If the ar15 didnt have sporting purposes, then I wouldn't have bought it. Clearly someone is full of excrement; Is it me and the other few hundred thousand ar 15 owners or is it the communist loving liberal party.

Service rifle is now over. 3 gun is done pretty much too.

The liberals are attacking sport shooters specifically. I suspect, because none of them vote liberal. The pistol category will likely be next judging from all the complaints.

It's important to keep in mind that since the liberals are "closing the markets" because most of the business conduced by firearms owners don't contribute to their Orwellian thinking or liberal pocket book, thus are an un-official enemy of the party. It's all about money, and the liberals want a monopoly. They have no interest in fairness or sharing. Canada isn't a democracy, and they're showing that very clearly.

You should get authorization to get a budget out of the club and retain a competent lawyer immediately. Proactively tell the membership the association will coordinate the filing of the judicial review, lay out the paper work ahead of time and make it simple for the members to be part of the legal action by signing the pre-made paper work.

Do a budget and ball park the cost.

Now it is up to you to market this - if 30% of the people will join and each will pledge 100 dollars in the first tranche, you will have the first step. Subsequently, you can fund raise by running marches for just the purpose.

Please, please take legal action.

Planning on it gang... I was hoping to try to network with organized multigun across the country, but not hearing from many East of the Rockies... I'll try to reach out to IPSC Canada to see if they're interested given their growing IPSC rifle program. How can ANY gun org pledge to be apolitical since the 90s???!?

Great idea from Greentips.

Are you signing up members in your association?

Well, you could try contacting IPSC Canada, but I was told a # of years ago by the President that there is a Policy in place for them NOT to be a political organization. Rifles and shotguns are but a small part of IPSC, so we will see if that Policy changes once the Liberals start attacking handguns.

Thats a cool policy because handguns will be next.

I guess they can then rename themselves to IPNSC - International Practical NON Shooting Confederation

As a member of IPSC I find the President is way off base here because “if” the current government bans hand guns our sport is dead so being politically active is a must for IPSCs survival.

Before you start on your own journey with a small group why don't you take a look at what the canadian organizations are doing and jumping board with them?

Second this. I'm a member of IPSC Ontario and last year we been told, that IPSC is not a political organization an not going to engage into any discussion.
Right now there are discussion across members, but I haven't seen BoD stance. Really sucks.

So waiting for a handgun ban is the game plan? How has it worked out so far after the fact for black rifle owners and duck or turkey hunters?

Already contributed to the lawsuits JR Cox started as well as CCFR and NFA. We're considering this judicial review of the OIC as it has unduly effected us as sport shooters... The Governor in Council (Cabinet) has judged our sport unworthy, and prohibited our equipment despite it being used for organized sporting purposes.

I'd be very happy if CSSA, CCFR or NFA had a class-action along these lines, but so far they haven't. I saw one thread with a fellow who is a litigator in Ontario, but frankly, I'd rather have a decision out West... Don't trust Central Canadian judges as far as I can throw them, even though it's Federal Court no matter the location...

In Quebec there was a CQB evant at BFC Valcartier. It was organised by members of the local shooting club, with Forces approval an supervision, or course.
No black badge required, open to all. Most used AR-15, some had other semi-automatic rifles of different type. It also included pistols.
We were between 50 and 60 shooters. Last year there was even a night event.

Nothing has been planned this year because of COVID. And the AR ban after...

You can reach them at cqbquebec@hotmail.com if you need additional details.
