Sport shooters challenge the OIC?!?!

Already contributed to the lawsuits JR Cox started as well as CCFR and NFA. We're considering this judicial review of the OIC as it has unduly effected us as sport shooters... The Governor in Council (Cabinet) has judged our sport unworthy, and prohibited our equipment despite it being used for organized sporting purposes.

I'd be very happy if CSSA, CCFR or NFA had a class-action along these lines, but so far they haven't. I saw one thread with a fellow who is a litigator in Ontario, but frankly, I'd rather have a decision out West... Don't trust Central Canadian judges as far as I can throw them, even though it's Federal Court no matter the location...

Could you please provide link to Cox and NFA actions ?

So... I'm the President of Dynamic Sport Shooting BC Association... I have almost 700 members in the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley of BC who participate in mulitgun matches... But apparently the AR15 we use for our primary sporting platform has no sporting purpose... Despite the fact we have codified rules, a qualifier, sponsors and scores... Who else in Canada uses a now prohibited firearms for sport?!? Thinking of judicial review... Please PM me if you are involved in organized gun games using AR platform rifles...

Good stuff.

I’ve been a member of DSS for a number of years now and I’ll support any action from our group challenging this as these banned firearms do have a clear sporting purpose, contrary to what’s been stated and used as a justification.

For those of you in the BC lower mainland it’s a great group to shoot with, awesome matches, obviously matches so far this season have been cancelled but if you’re interested in this type of shooting take a look.

We deleted a post that commented on IPSC policy because people from IPSC made complaint about its representation.

Frankly we are busy at dealing with the fallouts of the OIC, please take your issues to IPSC directly. IPSC has their own forum manned by their executives to answer any questions about their policy.
