I think the lack of replies reflects that most people don't run optics on a tactical shotgun. In my opinion all you need is lo-profile rifle sights and a light:

I run an Aimpoint Acro on my 870P 14" and a Holosun open reflex on my 870P 18". They work great.

The even bigger joke is the price they are selling those " retro " shotguns... Cant believe people a dumb enough to buy them at those prices... haahahahhaah

Last thing I would ever want is a new production 870 / 500

Not sure if you’re referring to the 870 Police models, as well. If so, you’re shortchanging yourself. Recent production 870 Police guns are excellent! At least the 4-5 I’ve owned have been.
