Ordered a $399 Russian from Cabelas on May 16th and the darn thing arrived today. Wow that's super fast considering all of this covid-19 is slowing everything down.

I got lucky,it looks really good and it is very clean with hardly any grease on it at all. It came with oil bottle, tool kit and a couple of stripper clips but no sling.

Numbers that match are...
Stock
receiver
Bolt carrier
Bolt
dust cover
trigger guard
Mag # does not match

Just a few years ago we could buy these for less than $200 but we all know that the price is going up,way up.

Hey, I order another SKS from Cabelas on May 3rd and it still hasn't arrived yet. I hope it will be as nice as yours.

Hows is the safety switch on it? I order an SKS a few weeks back from Tenda and the safety it hard and mushy.

The safety is a bit stiff to apply but pretty good to release.

As for the fast delivery it might make a difference that I live less than six hours from Calgary which is where they shipped it from.

I have a few others, Chinese and Russian and I don't really find a big difference at all. They both shoot minute of pie plate.;)

Accuracy can only vary so much with 762x39, you can hit a pie plate at 100 yards with the best of em or the worst. (Maybe that's just me.)
Quality of craftsmanship, I give it to the Russian SkS over the Chinese, its just more solid, less rattle and hollowness... IMO, thats why they cost more.

Anyone find out if Yugo's are banned? Grenade lug is a nono, am I wrong?

Wow that's a hell of a score. Looks brand new. I'd have a hard time debating about even shooting it. I bet a collector would pay good money for it eventually.

How much better do you want with battle sights. At 100m the front sight pin completely covers my 10" gong.

The grenade ban is 20mm bore. Since it's a lug, not a tube, should be fine.
