Hey everyone,

Been looking around trying to find myself a Cz 527 carbine with wood stock, chambered in 7.62x39. I've checked everywhere I know has an online presence probably about 60 stores. And the only ones in stock are the plastic stocked models, and besides a few it seems for the most part they are sold out across the country. I've also found the more modern production CZ 550, which is in .308. But the entire reason I'm looking for a CZ 527 is too have a much cheaper cartridge for practice and use as a bush gun, then my current 30/06, so the CZ 550 in .308 is kind of pointless in that regard. Anyone know where to find one of these now seemingly rare rifles? Anywhere sell replacement stocks for these in walnut? I wouldn't even mind swapping out the polymer stock on the ones I've seen for sale if it's possible. I realize these are not in production any longer, but if anyone knows where to get one I'd much appreciate a point in the right direction.

You might find someone with a cracked stock who is willing to do the trade.

If you do find a wooden one glass bed it or you will likely get a hairline crack.

Good luck on your search, they are great rifles.

Ya was planning on doing bedding before I started throwing lead down the barrel. I've heard it's rather common to get those cracks at the top back of the firearm. But at the price of 7.62x39, it's a hard gun to let pass on by. Even with people complaining about the cracking in videos they all seem to love it anyway. Here's to hoping I find one, it's too bad the 550 isn't also in 76.2x39 would make this much easier lol.

There was one left in the Cobourg Canadian Tire 2 days ago with a wood stock.

There were 4 two weeks ago.

3 last week.

etc

Its not listed online but you may be able to call them and ask for the Hunting section if it is still there.

Its 8:34 pm now. I think they are open to 9pm

Good luck

Mine broke there as well had it repaired and then Covid descended so I'm waiting to get out with it to the range. Great little gun - short, light and handy. My younggun loves it as do I despite the cracked stock. If the stock chit cans again, I'll get a plastic replacement as the action and fit are A1 to my mind. The open sights are great and the set trigger is a really nice option for a gun I paid 800 for (unused on EE). You won't regret it.

Just bought a 527 with the synthetic stock. I had totally wanted the walnut version, but to be honest, after receiving the synthetic stocked version, I could not be happier. It is one of the nicest synthetic stocks I have seen with a very nice touch to it. It will be the "beat around the farm gun" so I am happy I went with it. Now to find a .223 version.
