PT1911 Blued YES (in US) but Stainless model isn't out yet...:( according to Taurus it should be out this fall. (but I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it for "spring '08"...)

it should actually be $100 less :) but I doubt we'll see a .40 version any time soon (if at all) for now thay just have plans for .45ACP...

Taurus .40 cal???

If they end up doing a run of the Taurus in .38 Super or 10mm you can just get a .40 barrel fitted to it & be away to the races. ;)

Heck, if you can retro fit a Colt Delta Elite 10mm to take barrels in 9mm, .38 Super, .357 Sig & .40 S&W surely it could be done with the new Taurus 1911.

the bare minimum... 104mm... I think..

Do you have a prohibited license? How did the seller agree to sell it to you
if you don't have one? I was also thinking of buying a 24/7 in .40S&W but it
falls under prohibited category.

Nice first pistol. My first pistol was a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag in 1975 and I still have it. I have my 12(6) and boy the pistol disease has hit me hard in the last couple of years. You can buy a 12(6) for less than 1/2 the cost of a registered handgun but I guess I always have the theory that they will be confiscated or safe bound like 12(5)'s are. Shoot it lots and have fun, when the lib's get back in it will be a full scale war to keep our firearms.

new handgun

Congradulations, The fact that this gun feels natural in your hand was a very wise choice.I have not had that model in my hands as of yet, heaven forbid !When it comes to handgunning the fit is where it all starts.

Congrats. I had a couple of Taurus handguns over the years, and enjoyed them all. I especially found them all to be very comfortable in the hand and therefore to shoot. Really good guns; I'm looking hard at their 1911 model myself. Not that I need one; just that I want one.

I hope The handgun fever dosen't hit to hard. I just put together an AR topping out over $3K.... That is a couple nice handguns... :)

I do my safety course at Barrie this weekend.... and after my probation I will be there quite often working my new Sporting Arms in.

That is a pretty pistol. A lot of controls tho - damn - what's the extra button for - safety, slide catch...and uhm...not sure about the last one.
