Stevens 200

I am looking at ordering a Stevens 200 in .243. WSS has them listed at $329.95, SIR has them at $329.99, and a couple of local shops have them at $349.95 and $369.95. Are there any better prices out there? I have a Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5x32 that can go on it for now, until I can sell my old muzzleloader or bolt action .30-30. Then I would like a better scope for it, but for now I have to keep the price down.
 
What you save in tax by buying mail order will offset the shipping expense. More times then not local shops are out to rape consumers, I don't support them unless they have fair pricing.
 
My wife has the Stevens 200 in 243, it's a great little gun. Buy local like the others said, the shipping from the others will eat up your savings... We need little local gun shops!

I personally would not consider $370 for a Stevens 200 to be getting "raped"

buy it for $330 + shipping and then save some money to replace that piece of #### Bushnell scope you'll put on it, then save up to replace the piece of #### Stevens you bought.

I bought my Stevens 200 from WSS but going forward I will be supporting the smaller local dealer (Proline) plus a couple of out of town dealers (P&D, Bashaw) and of course fellow gunutz.

LOL: you're on crack :D BTW, snowshoe said that WSS "had them listed" - which we all know does not necessarly mean that they "have" them. There's a war in Iraq....remember? :jerkit:

went to WSS to buy one, guess what they didn't have a 22-250, lots of 223 but not what I wanted, had other more expensive savages in 22-250. Oh and none of the powder I wanted either.

so I went to P&D (great to live where I have choices) they had 6 in 22-250 bought it for $369, worth it for service, and I also got 250 Nosler 50grn Balistic tips, a pound of H380, bag o unprimed brass, a box of winchester factory ammo, and a few other bits and bobs.

Nice thing is that P&D had everyting I wanted, no waiting, and by noon I was on the range shoooting. :)

shop local has its advantages
 
All this Stevens 200 talk is making me want to buy one in .223.......even possibly one in 7-08 as a backup to my LVSF.....

If anyone has a .223 and wants to part with it, toss me a PM before listing in the exchange....
 
All the Stevens 200's I've ever seen in the EE are selling for about what ne ones go for. Sometimes they'll have mounts included, but a pair of Weaver bases is only worth about $10. If you're lucky, you'll get one from the EE for the price of new, less tax.

I think P&D has some in 223, for $369. Not a great deal, but you won't have to pay shipping if you walk in. I went in the other day with the intention of buying one, but walked out with a t3 instead, mostly because I've never had a tikka, but have had Stevens'. BTW - they're out of blued/synth T3's in 223.

I bought my (####ty) stevens 200 from Bashaw sports for $369.00. I don't feel like I got a bad deal.

It could be because he threw in the mounts and rings. Weavers too. Or it could be that he gave me a discount on the (####ty) bushnell scope. Or the fact that he threw in targets and gave me another discount on ammo for it as well.

But mainly it's the fact that no matter what happens to the rifle or scope, if theres an issue they will make it right without any bull####.

Just try to get that from wholesale.
 
Local dealer tried to sell me one for $469. & before i discovered wss sir or that you could purchase online, I bought a 710 from him for right around 625-630 tx inc Now thats getting raped . my ass still hurts at the thought.

Yes, mahony 1977, don't feel so bad about paying too much for your 710. Everyone else who bought one, no matter how low the price, paid too much, too.
