Hey Gents my 303 has front Ruger sights, with the pop button to then knock out the Blade, so i did this finally, after many attempts, its fairly weird to wack out, needed a bit of a wack too...

my question is, does that little Springy button need attention, does it stay there? or will it fall out?

Thanks

my gun bag will love it, time for a new one, minus all the rips from the blade!

It and the spring underneath will fall out!

i cant for the life of me Get it out!? whattya suggest i do to keep it? wrap some insulation tape around it an keep an eye on it?

i wedged the pin between two screw drivers and couldnt lift it out (attempted tweezer like pinch) have rattled shook and banged it upside down..... its hangin in there!

no doubt go for one walk outside an it will Fall out.

heeelp

The spring has a big coil on each end so it doesn’t fall out. If you pull it out, you will likely ruin the spring - if you leave it in, you will likely end up losing it. Take your pick. You could also buy another insert, file the blade off or round it so it doesn’t hang up and it will keep the dovetail, spring and plunger in good shape.

talk about a double edged sword!
yeah ok i might look into the replacement one to file down to be less 'dangerous' , thats a bit of a bugger though!

my alernate mind thinking is to use a craft glue to fill the spring and into the dovetail, exposed, so i could pull it out when i wanted to use it again..
ill see how that goes

Yeah im fairly happy with that ..... for now...

may need to use tweezers to pull it out in future an then put some solvent or WD/metho spirits in to free it up, not stressed..for now lol

Sounds like you’re happy with your fix. If you decide to order a sight sight unseen keep in mind that the inserts changed over the years and some have the plunger hole in the front, some in the back.

mate i noticed this when having a quick look online the other week when i posted, since then ive taken the gun out a few times, its tending to be the go to at the moment, esp just backing up for other hunters- however the glue fix is doing its job so far :)
