As mentioned, they do take the proprietary Savage magazines which are okay, but not great. There's a ten round model available for .308 and one of those 6-something calibre as well.
Take a look at the Target and Precision Rifle sub-forum, there's a thread running right now with a method for converting your bottom bolt release Savage to a top bolt release (basically, either change the sear if you can get the part, or make your own top release lever).
The 10T-SR has 4-7/16" or 4.4375" action screw spacing. If you look around, a lot of the Savage Model 10 DBMs advertise 4.4" screw spacing... so, you're very much left to wonder if that'll work on your rifle, or not. You might luck out and find a DBM that will work, or you could be out a few hundred dollars.
