How long would it have taken to type "Rossi Firearms" into the Google search window?
Cool. Now read the rest of the questions I asked. In the post, not just the thread title.
Thanks for the replies guys. Does anyone know who was importing and why they stopped? I don't know that competition alone would do it as they were in a lower price bracket generally than others levers.
When I called up Rossi in Brazil and their US distributor (in Florida i believe it was) about a year ago I was told they were so far behind in orders they were trying to catch up. It seems they were in more demand than the American made models. Wolverine and Prophet River use to sell them regularly.
They're still around but I bet the Canadian market had gotten a bit tighter with new offereings from Henry, Marlin and even Mossberg. Even Uberti and Chiappa is trying to break into the lever market. It seems that the Rossi importers/dealer have changed dirrection a bit because I see those cheap Rossi .22s being sold everywhere, you know the ones that some times comes with a .410 interchangable barrel but not always and the retailer tries to sell a single barrel setup for the price of two. I have a couple of CT stores in my area that is doing that... why!?!

Would love to see more Chiappa/Rossi and Uberti options, especially if they could do a mechanically sound stainless PG 44mag, 35rem options that were very affordable. The miroku levers have the high end fancy stuff pretty well covered at the other end.
