Good morning, I was out yesterday with my 795. Came home to clean it and noticed that I had two small hairline cracks in the guard around the screw holes. Obviously I’ve over tightened them at some point. I am looking at a aftermarket aluminum one. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for a new one and where you are buying them. Found the DIP one from Kinnys out of the states.

Also does anyone have the target trigger? Is it worth it? I am thunking that the aftermarket trigger would bump me out of the outlaw rimfire series production class into the unlimited which I do not want at this time.

Regards

Years ago I had a Marlin 60 with the broken trigger guard, so I bought the DIP guard and trigger from Kinneys. Both products were top notch in quality, but the "target" trigger doesn't change the trigger pull in any way other than having an overtravel screw

That was the only difference I could see with the trigger. Do you think the over travel screw is worth the close to $35 cost. I was leaning towards not getting it, but if the is value in it, I would re evaluate.

DIP guard from Kinney's is solid, made of metal, fits well. Got the cheaper one without the trigger. That guard came with the over-travel screw too. Use loctite if using the screw, or remove and store it safely, otherwise it will be gone after couple of ammo boxes.

Sorry, another quick question....what colour did you guys get? I think they are anodized and not powder coated. I am assume the colour won’t flake off.

I tell people to buy the DIP trigger guard even before they shoot the gun.
It will actually save you money because you’d spend more replacing several plastic guards.

I have the DIP trigger guard and flat faced trigger along with the Mcarbo trigger spring kit. Going to get the DIP rail as well and mount a scope. Definitely quality upgrades. I like this rifle much more than the 10/22’s I’ve owned.

I have ordered the DIP guard. I think the gun is great. Had it out yesterday and the family put 200 through it. I’ve put the Nikon rimfire scope on it. I personally love shooting it and everyone else does too. Had empty shot gun shells at 40 yards. All of us hit the shells first try. I would say that speaks to the rifle. I find it’s my go to gun for fun. I buy only the mini mags for it now, they are the best for me. Can’t wait to get the guard.

I bought from Kinney’s. Took a few extra days due to the ongoing chit show. Pretty happy with the instal and look. However, the trigger spring now has a plastic washer between it and the trigger and doesn’t wrap around the trigger like it did. Not sure if it’s me and I am missing something or it needs a new spring. It functions fine still but would like to not have the end of the spring tip on the top of the trigger.

Hey guys. I just got a 795 knowing it had one crack, but, it actually came apart in 3 pieces just now. Behind at screw & right in front of trigger guard, & another small piece flew off! lol I see the Kinny is $80 US, what's that landed here approx? $130ish shipped? Practically what I payed of the whole rifle. Been in the dog house buying too much lately. I will buy, prob cant til next month or so. Anyone have their Old shiit plastic guard {maybe in One piece still} willing to sell me? Plz PM me. Thnx so much. Cheerz ~

I was in the same boat. 180 dollar gun, 130 dollar piece of aluminum. JB welded my plastic one, its held up good since.

.

Do the Tech Sights for the 795 still ship to Canada?... :yingyang:

Cyclone,
Optics Camp ships to Canada. I've ordered two sets of the sights from them and they each shipped within 24 hours of my order. And one of those was made just this past May.

Check out the tech sights.

You an also swap out the included front sight post, for any AR sight post. I'm using one made by KNS, available from True North Arms. The medium ball post is great for quick shooting at shorter distances, and the small ball post is a bit better for anything beyond 25 meters. That said, they have several styles.

Check out the sight posts.

And again, TNA had great service. Ordered twice from them and both times they shipped in about 2 days, and one of these was also made this past May.

Cheers,
Neil
