Time for an over/under

Bringing up an old thread, but I'm curious to know if you went through with an over under purchase?

My recent o/u purchase was kinda spur of the moment. I was researching guns, first looking at Franchi, as I haven't owned one before. Their warranty is decent and I'm generally curious how they handle. But then, I was looking at a Beretta Vittoria, quite a bit more expensive than the Franchi but women's specific. Went and looked in store and ended up leaving as neither fit me all that well. Not in a major rush so not discouraged. Few days later I stumbled upon a used Browning Cynergy Sporting, I held it and I just knew that I needed it. So like others have said, it's all about the fit and how it feels in your hands and how comfortably you shoulder the gun. Nothing quite like a gun that fits well. Buying firearms in general will always bring me joy, I think it's my version of the shoe obsession most women seem to have. #buyalltheguns

The best thing a cheap O/U does is convince you why you need to buy a better quality gun. Either spend more or buy a used QUALITY o/u.

I'll add to this...first one for me was a Beretta. Thought it fit and swung perfect for me until it was time to shoot. Tried a Browning which I thought was odd swinging and shoot perfectly with it. Its been Browning for me since even though I love the Beretta OU's.

Virtually any gun can be made to fit you. Buy something that "feels right" - and if necessary get it fit to you. I have rather strong opinions on what's quality and what's crap - so I'll avoid the howls of outrage and not say anything about that. ;)

I will suggest to beware of recommendations that seem surprising. Rarely does someone want to admit their gun choice turned out be a bad one.

very true!

I owned a Stoeger Condor a million years ago and shot a lot of ducks with it. It wasn't until years later when I picked up a Cynergy and instantly purchased it that realized how bad the Condor was. I have had a few cynergy's over the years, and my god they are nice to shoot.
