Any retailers still carrying new ACR's?

This is the one rifle I've wanted ever since I got into firearms but never made the plunge due to it being cost prohibitive. I figure it's now or never today seeing as Remington shuttered the Bushmaster brand and due to our current political climate.

I've seen a handful on EE but they are asking even more than retail price and I would prefer to buy new.

Does anyone still carry these or have they become extinct?

EDIT: The NR .223 model to be specific.

Why buy a weapon system that has no spare parts for it. Anything breaks on it and you have a paper weight.

Anecdotal example but of all the firearms that I own i've never broken or needed to replace a single part. It would be nice knowing that I COULD replace a part if anything ever broke though for ease of mind.

The ACR is a fairly mature modular firearms system that was designed and manufactured to compete in the USSOCOM SCAR Trial. I saw zero signs of excessive wear nor any indications whatsoever of premature component failure in my own early-production ACR before I (now regretably) sold it.

Since all of your Canada-based options are now used to some extent, you may as well focus your search on a low round-count early-production example manufactured by the Ilion, NY Bushmaster Plant. The more recent-production guns (including the DMRs) built at the relocated plant are known to be plagued with problems as documented on the Mil Arms Youtube channel. That's not to say that every (or even most) of the newer ACRs are problematic. Still, if you are looking to avoid all potential issues, best to stick with the older Ilion ACRs. Mine was flawless when I had it.

Bushmaster folded. No new ones unless someone is holding on to one.

Hopefully Templar precision gets into Canada quicker as they are doing bolts for them. Would be nice to have the aluminum lower as well.

There is a small aftermarket but I can see that growing if small parts becoming unavailable as nobody is gonna throw out a 3k rifle because you can't find a firing pin. The vacuum will be filled.

Never had an issue with my early production one. Barrel retaining system does not get loose and it has amazing accuracy.

Yup - the very early Wyndham Massachusetts and later Ilion, NY manufactured ACRs are excellent firearms. Weighty, but excellent. Avoid anything that came out in the later-production from Huntsville, Alabama. That's where the ACR went pear-shaped during its final years of production: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6GuatRtCRY&t=19s

Anything in .223 or .308 that is semi-auto needs to have spare barrels available. If you could buy a rifle AND a barrel or two (depending on how much you shoot), I'd still go for it.
