Browning Has Finally Jumped on the Tactical Bandwagon

Yes! a 14" barrel is a real possibility isn't it? If my memory is correct, aren't Browning shotguns made overseas and not in the US? So, no worries with importing short barrels from the US!!!! That is unless our Canadian distributors have to buy through US distributors.... :(

Not to be too much of a stickler, but a 14" barrel would mean that the magazine would be shortened and it couldn't really then be called a "High Capacity" any more...

it looks like an over priced wannabe tactical 870 there missing the removeable mag extention to desquies the weapon as a common sporting gun the baonet addabability since it has a capped mag tube it's also missing a decent tactical stock barrel clamp with bayonette mount fron and rear sling plates possibility to mount a top rail

it's just a over priced gun for wannabe mall ninjas a mall ninja gun it aint

Over priced? Its $100 plus tax cheaper. Why would you want a removeable mag extension? Plug it to th 2+1, not too difficult. Bayonet? What century are we in? I like the capped mag tube... makes things easy. There are sling mounts... If you really want a top rail, any decent gunsmith can give you one, but for what. This is meant as a sporting sg, they never called it a tactical, just a High Capacity... will work great in sporting events and hunts alike for me...

You are obviously young so you can be forgiven for not being familiar with Browning's reputation for making the highest quality firearms, shotguns included. You are correct though, this is not a mall ninja toy gun designed to dress up like a GI Joe doll. It is just a solid, well built shotgun that is plain looking and built on a very proven and reliable platform.

Quite simply, it is not a toy for children. It is a grown up's gun. So it is quite understandable if you don't find it appealing.

Amen...

I own a BPS high cap. shotgun as well as the rest of the other shotguns. You just gotta love how smooth and silky the action is on this gun.....beats the rest, Hands down!

did i say browning made bad guns it's a high end gun trying to be a low lvl beat the crap out of it tactical system

i said nothing of reliabilty i said it wasn't a tactical gun didn't see the price when i looked at it

the benifit of a removeable mag ectention is that if you needed to use a 26 barrel or even a 12 inch if you need extream maoverability the option is there it also means that if you want to put on a 36 inch trap barrel all you have to do is take it off you sporting clays gun remove the extention replace the cap and walla tatcial erganomeitry the problem with this is it neds from the looks of it a specialy made barrel since the cap is further foreward if you want a browning buy a browning

the thread title says tactical not high capacity sporting shot gun

I'm at a loss.. why wouldn't you have seperate sgs for doing all that? The definition of a tactical gun, really, is that it passes a more stringent qc process, is durable and less fallable than the average. Now, I know, it doesn't look mean... but tactical should be function over form, simplicity.

I think I just found my new shotgun. Always liked the BPS – much better fit and finish than any modern Remington or Mossberg.

And to the guy who said it's overpriced: we are talking about a gun with a forged steel receiver and no plastic parts. The only other pump that I can think of that does not come with an alloy receiver and/or plastic trigger group is 870 Police and it costs at least $100 more. This gun is actually a pretty good bargain.

ok i said i didn't see the price din't looked cause being a browning i didn't think i would be able to afford it it's a browning come on give me a break they arn't exactly cheap

yes reliability is a mainstay for any tactical system how ever so is adaptability and when it can't be adapted modularity is use full when if you know your gonna be cralling through tunnels clearing them of hostilles shorter barrels are an advantage

also bayonette is use full as it allows you to use the firearm in a maylay form if you need to simple open the breach stab bad guy throw a shell in the reciever close the breach take out bad guy with a close ranged blast

see they have a use other then looking hard core *grins*

my argue ment never was that a browning would never make a good tactical gun... it was that that wasn't a tactical model

the top mount cause a 12 gauge slug with in a 100 yards has more penitration then a 308 on hard tagets in tests where a 308 disintegrates such as bullet resistand glass the good old slug kees going a for me a red dot is more use full then a bead sight for that kind of shooting the ability to mount a hard back up that is unobscured by the mount is also an advantage to me
