I need some help guys

My first attempt at working on a firearm has led to disaster.

I'm replacing my hammer with the VQ hammer, but i forgot how it went on in the first place. I put it back in and #### the bolt back but the trigger wont do anything :S

Also what's with that little clasp on the top of the magwell with the really mini spring? That thing flew off and is a POS :S

I googled my arse off and couldn't find that.

Now what's with that spindly thing above the magwell? Is it important for it to be tight? it just kinda flops all over the place.

...are you talking about the hold-open catch that you push up on to keep the action to the rear without a magazine?

You mean the hold-open assembly? That is pretty loose on mine, it is a bar attached by a retaining pin on the side of the magwell.

ha ha..... when I bought my VQ hammer, I expected to intall the damn hammer within 10 minutes MAX. this is of course based on Rimfire central forum individual who posted the time it took him to install his VQ hammer...... so off I went and attempted to install mine when it came last year..... It took me almost and hour... not to mention I sweated so much trying to figure out how to put back the damn trigger assembly parts I took out... LMAO... I know how it felt like Spray... welcome to the "DYI Club"

Nope, you are good. That page from rimfire central saved me when I did my install. Did it real quick, reassembled and then could not move the bolt all the way back. Disassembled, quick reference check back to the page print out, and realized I put the hammer in backwards...

The extractor was a little more fun.......

Is it back in one peice? Sniper22 is a wed night shooter and he shoots/tinkers with 597's. He might be able to get you back up and running.

Yeah I got it back in once piece, trigger pull feels 10x better now, thanks guys that was kind of a oh $#@$ moment

Glad that guide was floating around, really helpful, especially readjusting that linkage so the hammer would lock.
