Canadian -Israeli-made- vs US-made X95 18.5 5.56

I looked for a post on this topic and could not find any.

Im looking for a X95 18.5" 5.56 (in black or FDE if anybody has a used one)

IRG can get me a US-made gun which poses a couple Qs

I would like to do some tactical range training for fun/challenge

1 - I have heard from several that the Canadian (Israeli-made) X95 is not temporarily importable into the USA. IE ATF will not grant you a Form 6. Anybody with experience on that?

2 - These same experienced folks tell me the Canadian (Israeli) X95 is of better quality / construction than the US-made X95?

3 - Why is the 18.5" US model 1" shorter than the CDN version?

4 - Is the US model importable and is it Non-Restricted in Canada?

1 - They might be confused with the T97, as Norinco has a blanket import ban. I'm pretty sure I've seen People like TvPressPass take his to US competitions.

2 - A number of parts of the US gun are made in the US for compliance, and then the rifles are assembled there as well. I don't think anyone outside of IWI knows which parts are which.

3 - It's not? US guns normally have 16" barrels as that's their minimum barrel length, or 18" for optimal velocity. But the X95 is so short that they had to make the barrel 16.5" and add a thick recoil pad just to reach overall length requirements. They probably gave the 18" barrel another half inch just to make the option more worthwhile, and to simplify production for their California compliant models. Canadian barrels have to be 18.6" to be compliant with our laws.

4 - Yes to import, no to NR

It is the Israeli made TAR-21 that's not temporarily importable to the USA. It used to be, then they decided against it - I was getting it approved on Form 6 every year then one year they made me remove it. Don't know if any of this applies to the X95...
 
The US guns are Israelis guns, they were stripped of Israelis parts and have them replaced with the US parts in US. It was kinda explained in an IWI USA video.

The same way Belgium FN2000 entered into the US.

But how did they do it???? It is a game of part count. Specific parts are listed for the part count. Because the way bullpup is constructed, my speculation is that the stock and the receiver are counted as 1 part instead of 2 parts, that saved part count can now be used for the barrel so they can essentially import the entire gun, and only have to swap out the rather minor stuff like flash suppressor and charging handle, etc

And throw in a US magazine.

US tavors are not non restricted here?
 
Folks...

A wealth of info in the thread.

If the US model is restricted in Canada, it makes my original question moot.

No point in importing a restricted rifle.

I guess Im waiting till late-July like everybody else :)
