The Freedom Ordnance FX-9 OWNERS thread.

I just put a Vortex Crossfire11 on my PCC I don't have. For a $199 it is a heck of a sight. I have the Sparc11 on a CX4 Storm and it is $100 more and is no better of an optic in my opinion. The newer red dots seem to be much smaller. Worth a look.

Take Care

This ^^^^ I have both as well and I will purchase the crossfire anyday over the Sparc in the future. The skeletonized mount is a big bonus as well depending on what your mounting it to, as you can still use iron sights that are of the lower profile style, like a shotgun.

Quick question, FX-9 in the mail just getting some pieces for it. Looking to switch the buffer spring out. I'm looking at a carbine length one right? Not rifle?

I put a carbine length AR10 flat wire into one. runs like a champ. Locks open on empty. recoil impulse is still a bit heavy, but will be trying a 9mm buffer instead of the carbine buffer currently in it.

I ended up using an Odin 9mm with a Geissele spring and the JP spacer (and tried quarters) in my A2 buffer tube. The Odin buffer has the easy access Allen head screw to quick change the weights. The FX9 BCG is heavy and cycled fine with no tungsten weights in the buffer.

The JP worked with the spacer however the ejector needed to be removed to allow for the insertion and removal from the tube which wasn’t very practical. The Silent Captured Spring will work with just enough clearance for the buffer spring retainer screw. The JP will not work with any 9mm AR15 BCG because of the weight in the carrier.

What kind of accuracy can you expect out of these things? I’ve seen people call them tack drivers at 50 but what kind of group sizes at 100 are the fellas getting? Anyone shot groups further than that?

Does anyone with a trigger pull gauge know how heavy the factory trigger is? Looking at upgrading to a TriggerTech, not sure if I should go with their 5.5lb or a 3.5lb.

Hey Guys, my new FX-9 is not holding bolt open on the last round. Pretty new to rifles so am I doing something wrong? Or is rifle malfunctioning?

From Wolverine 303

All videos you will have seen previously will have been made in the US, with USA ( Non-Canadian Compliant ) 17 round genuine glock mags. Our Canadian Compliant 10rd magazines ( not pinned or rivited ) do not have the same spring tension as them. This can cause issues in PCCs, the KCI magazine we were using, and the G26 mag which is supplied to it work perfectly. The G26 is the short (baby Glock) magazine and works great at holding the bolt open. The G19 and G17 were designed for 15 and 17 rounds respectively and the lower capacity 10 round versions may not have the spring tension to hold the bolt open.

Sorry if I'm repeating a question but couldn't find a thread that covered the best extended mags for the fx9. Obviously with the 10 round cap, I've read kci were the best ones outside of the glock factory ones, but can't seem to find them anywhere currently. See a lot of sgm instead but haven't read too many positive stories.

Got mine here and works great, unfortunately out of stock
