Chamber Chiller Options in Canada?

My Cool Shooter arrived.

And I remember seeing a video, of testing the flow with a Gempro 250, since I had one, I figured, I'd do the same.
It definatly moves enough air, to do the job.

It is very well built, and quiet. I do believe, there is a market for these.

I have seen an argument both ways. There is an article somewhere I read that said NO they do not work. Temperature was measured on the outside of the barrel and never took into account inner cooling.
I say they work. The heat inside the barrel after shooting sits and radiates with nowhere to go. If you introduce an air current you move the hot air out and allow more efficient cooling of the bore. If you ever blow on a hot spoon of soup to cool it down it work on the same effect (I believe, im no scientist)

Yes and No. The soup cools much faster due to evaporation (energy is used up to turn the water in the soup into a gas, and more airflow allows evaporation to take place faster, which in turn causes more cooling. This is basically the same idea of why the wind feels colder when you are wet than when you are dry, and why we sweat.)

There is nothing to evaporate in your barrel, so the cooling effect is greatly diminished. However, as long as the air is cooler than the barrel, more airflow will allow more air particles to come in contact with the barrel which will in turn allow a greater net transfer of energy from the barrel to the air. The barrel can only (or at least primarily) heat air particles that are immediately adjacent to it, and the increased airflow allows more air particles to come in contact with the barrel.

ICEDSHOT, I think you might have something worth marketing!

I would be interested in a couple

 all have been spoken for. Thanks guys

I have some that I made for me and my shooting buddies. Just never got around to trying to sell them. I bought about 25 fans out of China and there were extras.
They are 3d printed and use a 5 volt fan. The power comes from a usb power supply (battery pack for charging phones etc.) that you supply.
If any of you guys want to give one of these a try I would be willing to give 5 of them away for the price of shipping to you. Just please give a review and let me know if there is a demand as I could always make more.
There are 3 sizes to choose from.
Small is for .223 sized cartridges and will fit in the ejection port of Ar type rifles as well as most bolt action.
Medium is for .308 sized cartridges. So 6.5 Creedmoor and the magnums, These will also fit the AR 10 sized ejection port.
Large is for the big magnums of .338 Lapua and similar sized cartridges.

FYI shipping will be about $20 each.

I'll buy one, hell I'd even buy a copy of the file off you plus the link to the parts you bought lol my 3D printer needs something to do these days.

I have a Tikka Superlite that would really benefit from one of these, dissapointed I missed the chance to review one of them. I'd definitely buy one as well.

Received my cool shooters in the mail.
It does displace quite of bit of air.
I'll find a way to test with an infrared thermometer.

Something like check barrel temp, shoot 10, check barrel temp, wait 5 mins and check barrel temp.
Do it once with and once without barrel cooler.

Finally made it out to the range with my “Cool Shooter”. It was definitely an eye catcher with my shooting buddy’s. Seems sturdy enough and functions as it should It’s also very quiet. I don’t have any fancy instruments to test it but my barrel cooled down noticeably faster then the others on the line. My buddy’s agreed it would be nice to have these available for purchase.
Thanks a bunch Icedshot for the opportunity to test one out.
Joe

I'll PM you soon with some private thoughts about your product, what I will publicly say it's I would of been satisfied to have paid for it, thanks again for the opportunity it's great!
Soon I will make a test before and after shooting barrel temp, with and without cooling fan, and try to see how much heat it really helps to dissipate.
When inserted in the chamber and turner on, you definitely feel a strong breeze at the muzzle.

I got my cool shooter. Great piece of gear and works well. I too would be happy to pay for it.

What batteries does the included powepak take?

Well made, quiet, runs forever on a dollar store cell phone power bank. Blows lots of air.

Be nice to have :
- the file to reprint parts if they should get broken

- Interchangeble nozzle feature for multi cal use included

- more robust print of the nozzle piece and an o-ring groove to seal the chamber

I especially love it during load dev.
Since receiving cool shooters I re-load dev’d all my rifles.
And keeping my usual 10 minutes break between 5 shot groups.
Definitely maies a difference, as my higher loads during the day are smaller than they usually have.
My nodes still remained at the same spots overall, but it is nice to know I start with a totally cool barrel each time I try a new load.

Well after a long delay between shipping and a down printer I finally am able to make more Cool Shooters. During the wait I set up a website help streamline inventory, back orders, and actual shipping cost. You can check it out at coolshooters.ca
There are still a few bugs I have to workout on the website such as email money transfers and local pickup options.
There will be a discount code for the cgn community. Any questions feel free to send me a PM.

Good stuff!
With the coupon code it’s even cheaper than what I told you I was ready to pay for it!
Don’t leave the home without it anymore, works very well.

At least now when people inquire about it at the range I’ll have a website to direct them to.
